Clues that Apple is working on something like this appeared in the watchOS 5.1.2 operating system released yesterday. Until now, there was a special icon in it to show the iPhone with the original battery case, thus showing the phone with a horizontal dual camera and the "chin" that the old Battery case has. However, the new icon matches the design of the new iPhones and also hints that we will see a redesigned charging case.

The overall bezels of the case look a bit smaller, but the big question is how thick the case will be on the back, where the integrated battery will be. Why put a bigger battery?
