Apple today introduced an improved MacBook Air, which gets the True Tone function. The new version is also several thousand crowns cheaper, and students have the opportunity to get the laptop at an even lower price.

The MacBook Air 2019 basically comes with only two new features. The first one is the support of adaptive True Tone technology, which adjusts the color temperature of the display based on the ambient light. The function works on a similar principle as Night Shift, but with the difference that the adaptation to the surroundings is dynamic and takes place practically constantly.

All other parameters remain the same as last year's version. Inside, the same 1,6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 of the eighth generation with Turbo Boost function up to 3,6 GHz, integrated Intel UHD Graphics 617 and Apple T2 security chip with Hey Siri support continues to tick. The notebook is equipped with a pair of Thunderbolt 3, a butterfly keyboard, a Force Touch trackpad, a Retina display and loud stereo speakers.

The second, most fundamental and certainly the most welcome news for many is the lower price, which Apple has reduced by a full 3 thousand crowns. So while last year the basic model was priced at CZK 35, this year it starts at CZK 990. Following this, the older MacBook Air (32) without Retina display, with the original ports and keyboard, also disappeared from the menu.

The new MacBook Air is available in two basic variants, which differ only in price and storage size. While the basic model for CZK 32 offers a 990GB SSD, the more expensive variant for CZK 128 has a 38GB SSD. In the configuration tool, the notebook can be equipped with up to 990GB RAM and up to 256TB SSD for an additional fee.
