There were more question marks hanging over this year's Apple Event, i.e. regarding the introduction of new products. It was kind of clear that we would see the Apple Watch Series 6, next to it a new iPad - but it was not known exactly which one. At the very beginning of the conference, Apple announced that this conference will only revolve around the Apple Watch and the "revitalization" of the entire range of iPads. Specifically, we saw the introduction of the new iPad of the eighth generation, although unfortunately not with such functions and changes that users requested, as well as the iPad Air of the 4th generation. Let's take a closer look at this new iPad together.

Apple introduced the 8th generation iPad a few minutes ago

As such, the iPad is already celebrating 10 years. A lot has changed in these 10 years. The apple tablet has a huge impact in a number of fields, especially in education and healthcare. The eighth generation iPad is very similar in design to its predecessor, which is perhaps a bit of a shame - the original design is very popular, so Apple stuck with the 'old familiar'. The eighth generation iPad comes with a 10.2″ Retina display and hides an A12 Bionic processor in its guts, which is 40% faster than its predecessor, and the graphics performance is 2x greater. Apple boasts that the eighth generation iPad is 2x faster than the most popular Windows tablet, 3x faster than the most popular Android tablet and 6x faster than the most popular ChromeBook.

New camera, Neural Engine, Apple Pencil support and more

The new iPad comes with a better camera, Touch ID is then still placed classically at the bottom of the display. Thanks to the A12 Bionic processor, it is then possible to use the Neural Engine, which users can use in many different situations, for example when tracking movement during sports. The good news is that the eighth generation iPad offers support for Apple Pencil – it can recognize shapes and handwritten text, users can then use the Apple Pencil to create beautiful drawings and much more. We also got a new Sribble function, thanks to which you can insert handwritten text into any text field in iPadOS. The price of the new eighth-generation iPad starts at $329, then $299 for education. You will be able to order it immediately after the end of the conference, it will be available this Friday.
