To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the App Store last year, the famous Texas Hold'em, or the first ever iOS game from Apple, is now returning to iPhone screens.

Without any prior announcement, Apple released version 2.0 of Texas Hold'em tonight. The revived title received not only a redesigned user interface or improved graphics in high resolution adapted for the new iPhones and iPod touch, but also new characters, a more challenging course and several other improvements. Hints, tips, stats and player ratings are available right in the game.

The new version is completely free, while the game originally cost €4,99 (CZK 149 after conversion). In addition, Apple added multiplayer to the second version, where you can play poker with up to 8 friends via Wi-Fi. Of course, there is also offline play against realistic opponents, of which there are a total of twenty-four.

Opponents are programmed in such a way that they are also capable of bluffing or betraying themselves with hidden hints. Castles take place in a total of 10 different locations (such as Las Vegas, Paris and Macau) and progress to the next game location when you win.

The new Texas Hold'Em is available for download right here. Whether it is available for iPhones and iPods with iOS 12 or later. It is also worth noting that it is completely localized into Czech.

The first iOS game from Apple

Texas Hold'Em originally debuted on the iPod back in 2006. Later, on the occasion of the launch of the App Store on July 11, 2008, it was also released in an iOS version and became, among other things, one of the very first iPhone games. Since then, Apple has only updated it once, and it finally disappeared from the App Store in November 2011.

For a long time, Texas Hold'Em was the only game that Apple ever released for the iPhone. Only this May, this uniqueness was broken by the title Warren Buffett's Paper Wizard, through which Apple pays tribute to its largest shareholder, Warren Buffett.
