Four months after the launch of the Apple Pay payment service in the Czech Republic, our neighbors in Slovakia are finally waiting. As we already announced last week, as of today, the Apple Pay service has been launched here, and at the largest banking institutions. On the same day, Apple Pay also expanded to Portugal, Greece and Romania.

The arrival of Apple Pay in Slovakia has been talked about for quite some time, with the latest indications suggesting that it will arrive in June (despite several delays). This has happened today, and several banking institutions can boast of support for this payment system, including:

  • Boon
  • Edenred
  • J&T Bank
  • Mone
  • N26
  • Revolut
  • Slovak Savings Bank
  • Tatra Bank
  • mBank

Information about institutions supporting Apple Pay in Greece and Romania is not yet clear. Users in Slovakia are welcomed in the App Store by a new guide "Get Started With Apple Pay", which explains to users how the entire system works and what steps are needed to get it up and running.

The first half of this year is very rich in the expansion of Apple Pay both in Europe and around the world.
