Petr Škuta Apple has revealed more details about its upcoming Apple TV+ service. Many users were then pleased with the announcement that they will receive a whole year of free subscription to the new device. But there is a catch.
Apple intends to offer its video streaming service for CZK 139 per month, including as part of family sharing. In addition, when activating the first monthly subscription, the user gets 7 days to try the service.
A total of 1 series will be available when the service launches on November 12. All are exclusive titles written for Apple TV+. The offer includes:
- See: Jason Momoa, Alfre Woodard. 600 years in the future where people have lost their sight due to a virus.
- The Morning Show: Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. A drama about morning news, behind-the-scenes intrigues, careerism.
- Dickinson: Hailee Steinfeld, series focused on society, gender issues and family.
- For All Mankind: directed by Ronald D. Moore, the series presents a world in which star wars and the conquest of space between the powers have not ended.
- Helpers: a series about children learning to program.
- Snoopy in Space: original new series, Snoopy fulfills his dreams to become an astronaut.
- ghost writer: follows children brought together by a ghost in a bookstore.
- The Elephant Queen: a documentary series about a mother elephant and baby elephants, the herd and the life of elephants.
- Oprah Winfrey: Oprah's own show, interviews with guests.
Really a year free with every new device?
Apple decided to take an unexpected step. Together with the newly purchased device, i.e. iPad 10,2", iPhone 11, for example, but also with an iPod touch, Mac or Apple TV, every customer receives a year of Apple TV+ subscription for free.
However, the offer is tied to the duration of the currently running promotion and is valid only once for one Apple ID. Therefore, it is not possible to combine successive purchases of several Apple devices and "chaining" the subscription period.
The company is probably aware that, despite the favorable price, it cannot compete with strong services such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO GO or the upcoming Disney+. All named will offer both their own original series and a lot of additional content, which Apple TV+ does not yet have.

Even on its Czech website, Apple advertises it as if it were a common local matter, complete with a Czech description, but nowhere did I find a mention of the extent to which the content will be localized. Will there be dubbing? Or will there be subtitles? In what languages? English is far from the only world language, and if they want to offer such a service worldwide, they probably had to think of something like this.
World = USA …. the rest can speak English right??? (so it's not for me and HBO is winning so far)
Seven days to try it out? Every decent company gives a month (eg Netflix). In this case, it can be seen in a week. If he has the stomach for it. This is both expensive and free. Especially the series about gender, it will be a good exchange. The set is a good waste.
