One of the differences between the new and last year's Apple Watch is the material used. The new Series 5 will soon be available in titanium and ceramic versions in addition to the usual aluminum. As is customary, the specifications of the newly introduced watch appeared on Apple's website immediately after the end of the September Keynote - but these numbers were incorrect, because in the case of weight, it was a figure related to last year's model. Apple has now corrected the data and we are now able to compare the weight of the stainless steel Series 4 with the weight of the titanium version of the Apple Watch Series 5.

The titanium version of the Apple Watch Series 5 weighs 40 grams in the 35,1mm size and 44 grams in the 41,7mm size. Compared to the Apple Watch Series 4 in the stainless steel version, which weighed 40,6 grams (40mm) and 47,8 grams (44mm), this is a 13% difference.

The aluminum version of the Apple Watch Series 5 weighs 40 grams in the 30,8mm size and 44 grams in the 36,5mm size – in this version, this year's and previous generations of smart watches from Apple do not differ much.

As for the ceramic version of the Apple Watch Series 5, the 44mm variant weighs 39,7 grams and the 44mm version 46,7 grams. Despite the larger display, the ceramic Apple Watch Series 5 is therefore lighter than the third generation – in its case, the weight of the 38mm variant was 40,1 grams, and the 42mm variant was 46,4 grams.
