In connection with streaming music, in recent months Spotify and only recently have been talked about upcoming music service from Apple, which I think should be called "Apple Music". Of course, Spotify's competitor called Rdio should not be neglected either. Although this service has a much smaller market share than Spotify, it definitely has a lot to offer and wants to turn the market situation to its advantage. To help him do this, he has a new cheap subscription.

Magazine BuzzFeed informed, that Rdio wants to attract those interested in streaming music to a new subscription option called Rdio Select, for which the user will pay a favorable price of $3,99 (converted to 100 crowns) per month. For this price, the user gets the opportunity to listen to playlists prepared by the Rdio service without ads and without restrictions. So, for example, he will be able to skip songs as he likes. In addition, the price includes a limited number of 25 downloads of your choice per day.

Speaking about the new subscription, Rdio CEO Anthony Bay said that 25 songs per day is a volume that will allow the company to offer subscriptions for under $4 without breaking the bank. According to Bay, this is also a sufficient volume of music, since most users listen to less than twenty-five songs per day.

In addition, Anthony Bay also revealed that Rdio is not going to give up on the possibility of listening to music for free. So the company does not intend to follow in the footsteps of Spotify and stream free music burdened with advertising. In this regard, Bay agreed with singer Taylor Swift, who stated that listening to music of the user's choice should not be free.

For now, the cheaper Rdio Select will only be available in select countries, including the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and India. In the Czech Republic, we will unfortunately have to make do with the regular Rdio Unlimited subscription, for which Rdio charges 165 crowns per month. There is also a version of Rdio Web limited to a web browser. You will pay a little over 80 crowns for this.

Ping is dead, his legacy will live on

But it is not only Rdio that is taking steps with the ambitious goal of making its services more attractive and conquering the music world. They also work hard at Apple. 9to5Mac brought more information about the upcoming music service emerging in Cupertino. Apple is reportedly planning to make "Apple Music" special with a social aspect and follow up on its own earlier efforts to create a music social network labeled Ping.

According to information provided by "people close to Apple", performers should be able to manage their own page within the service, where they will be able to upload music samples, photos, videos or information about concerts. In addition, artists will reportedly be able to support each other and entice on their page, for example, the album of a friendly artist.

Users of the service will be able to comment and "like" various posts thanks to their iTunes account, but will not have their own page available. So in that regard, he will take a different path than he did with the canceled Ping.

Artist activity is supposed to be one of the core aspects of Apple Music. However, an entry in Settings in the latest developer beta version of iOS 8.4 suggests that it will be possible to turn off this feature and use Apple Music as a classic "bare" music service. However, for those interested, the social network will be part of Apple Music on iOS, Android and Mac.

Informed sources claim that Apple's new music service will be fully integrated into iOS 8.4 significantly redesigned Music application. Users of the existing Beats Music service will then be able to easily transfer their entire music collection. The services iTunes Match and iTunes Radio should then be maintained with the aim of complementing Apple Music functionally. In addition, iTunes Radio will receive improvements and should focus more on a locally targeted offer.

We should expect the introduction of Apple Music at this year's developer conference WWDC, which kicks off on June 8. In addition to the new music service, a new version of iOS and OS X will also be presented, and a new generation of Apple TV is also expected.
