In the field of music streaming applications, the number one has been unchanged for several years. Spotify maintains a huge and stable base of both paying and non-paying users. In second place, for several years now, is Apple Music. According to many analysts, this stable long-term arrangement could be disrupted this year, as it turned out that both Spotify and Apple Music are growing, but the service from Apple is growing significantly faster. On the American market, it can therefore be expected that their positions will change sometime during the summer.

The American The Wall Street Journal came up with the information, so it shouldn't be fictional stories from somewhere in Upper Lower. Apple Music currently has over 36 million users and seems to be growing by around 5% every month. The individual milestones that Apple achieves with its streaming service correspond to this trend, and it does not forget to brag about them. The biggest competitor in the form of Spotify is also growing, but much more slowly.

According to foreign reports, the monthly growth of Spotify's paying customers is roughly 2%. If this trend continues for both services in the coming months, there should be a swap of positions already during the summer, at least in the American market. The last known numbers of paying customers are the already mentioned 36 million in the case of Apple Music and 70 million in the case of Spotify. In both cases, these are global values, and neither company publishes detailed demographic statistics. So on a global level, Spotify is "by a steamer" ahead of Apple, and it doesn't look like anything should change. Even Spotify's global growth is slightly faster than Apple Music's. However, the difference is not nearly as big as it used to be.
