Apple announced in May that its music streaming service will start supporting Dolby Atmos and lossless audio quality in June this year. He kept his word, because the highest possible quality of listening to music has been available through Apple Music since June 7.   • How much does it cost? Lossless listening quality is available as part of the standard Apple Music subscription, i.e. 69 CZK for students, 149 CZK for individuals, 229 CZK for families. 
  • What do I need to play? Devices with iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, macOS 11.4, tvOS 14.6 and later operating systems installed. 
  • Which headphones are compatible with lossless listening quality? None of Apple's Bluetooth headphones allow streaming lossless audio quality. This technology simply does not allow it. AirPods Max only provide "exceptional sound quality", but due to the analog-to-digital conversion in the cable, the playback will not be completely lossless. 
  • Which headphones are compatible with at least Dolby Atmos? Apple says Dolby Atmos is supported by iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV when paired with headphones with W1 and H1 chips. This includes AirPods, AirPods Pro, AirPods Max, BeatsX, Beats Solo3 Wireless, Beats Studio3, Powerbeats3 Wireless, Beats Flex, Powerbeats Pro and Beats Solo Pro. 
  • Will I hear the quality of the music even without proper headphones? No, that's also why Apple offers at least a small substitute in the form of Dolby Atmos for its AirPods. If you want to fully enjoy the lossless quality of music, you need to invest in the right headphones with the possibility of connecting to the device with a cable.
  • How to activate Apple Music Lossless? With iOS 14.6 installed, go to Settings and select the Music menu. Here you will see the sound quality menu and you just have to choose the one you want.   • How many songs are available for lossless listening in Apple Music? According to Apple, it was equal to 20 million when the feature was launched, while a full 75 million should be available by the end of the year. 
  • How much data does lossless listening quality "eat"? Lots of! 10 GB of space could store approximately 3 songs in high quality AAC format, 000 songs in Lossless and 1 songs in Hi-Res Lossless. When streaming, a 000m song in high 200kbps quality consumes 3 MB, in lossless 256bit/6kHz format it is 24 MB, and in Hi-Res Lossless 48bit/36kHz quality 24 MB. 
  • Does Apple Music Lossless support the HomePod speaker? No, neither the HomePod nor the HomePod mini. However, both can stream music in Dolby Atmos. Apple support site however, they say that both products should receive a system update in the future that will allow them to do so. However, it is not yet known if Apple will invent a unique codec for this, or if it will go about it completely differently
