iTunes Festival, this year renamed to apple music festival, has been held every September since 2007, and since 2009 artists from all over the world have been playing for Londoners in the legendary Roundhouse.

It is this one that Apple has now decided to renovate in order to reduce the negative impact of the operation of the building and the festival on the environment. Lisa Jackson, the company's vice president of environmental affairs, said today reported on Twitter. It refers to the "frequently asked questions" page, one of which questions whether Apple is taking good care of Roundhouse.

The answer to the question is as follows:

You bet. To show our love, we're giving a 168-year-old building an environmental makeover. We fundamentally improve lighting, installation and HVAC systems (heating, ventilation and air conditioning, editor's note); we install recycling and composting bins; we arrange the transformation of used frying oil into biofuel; we are buying renewable energy credits to cover the Roundhouse's electricity consumption for September; and we offer reusable water containers instead of plastic ones. We expect these improvements to reduce the Roundhouse's annual carbon emissions by 60 tons, save 60 gallons of water per year, and divert 000 kilograms of waste from landfill.

With this move, Apple once again shows that whether its activities related to reducing the negative impact on the environment are part of marketing or a sincere effort to improve the world, it is consistent in them and does not focus only on what is most visible.

The Apple Music Festival started on Friday, September 18th and will continue until Monday, September 28th. Little Mix and One Direction take the Roundhouse stage today.
