This morning on the site discovered information that Apple has officially discontinued its "social network" implemented in Apple Music. Apple Music Connect was intended to be a tool for bands and musicians to communicate with their fans on the Apple Music platform. However, this did not happen much and the service almost fell into oblivion.

In recent days, Apple has reportedly been informing artists that the ability to post via Apple Music Connect is ending. Gradually, these posts also start to disappear from the "For you" section and from the pages of individual artists. In May of the coming year, all posts will be completely removed and we can forget about the next (unsuccessful) if some kind of Apple social network. History repeats itself again.

The Connect function appeared right away in the initial version of Apple Music, i.e. at the end of June 2015. At the beginning, it was a relatively widely used element in which artists communicated with their fans, invited them to concerts, published new songs, etc. to decline, which could also be due to the fact that the Connect service did not see any development going forward. Over time, it became a kind of relic pointing out how no one uses it. There is no better example than finding an active artist whose last Connect post is more than two years old.

Something similar happened in the past with iTunes Ping, which was supposed to be a service that would connect users with artists and other users. However, even that failed, and Apple preferred to implement Facebook and Twitter support into iTunes. Will you miss Apple Music Connect, or have you not noticed this "social" platform at all in the past three years?
