With iOS 11, Apple has integrated lane guidance into its maps. The navigation in the maps was able to tell (and show) which lane the user should stay in, in addition to the classic instructions about changing direction. From the beginning, it was a service that was only available in selected places, especially in the USA, Western Europe and China. However, with the gradual expansion, it also affected us, and this function has been available for maps in the Czech Republic since last week.

Apple has updated the list of features for its map application and several European countries have been added to the "lane guidance" column. In addition to the Czech Republic, this service is now also available for maps in Poland, Hungary, Ireland and Finland. Thanks to this latest expansion, this service is now available in 19 countries in the world, and it is very interesting that the Czech Republic has reached these 19 countries. I don't want to believe too much that it would be the quality of the infrastructure and road network...

As already mentioned in Perex, the service has been available in the Czech Republic since last week, when I personally noticed it for the first time. It will help drivers especially when navigating complex intersections or in more complicated places where they have never driven. I know from my experience that this innovation is still not 100% (in one case it went wrong in Pilsen), but fine-tuning is only a matter of time.
