iOS and iPadOS are closed systems, which brings with it a number of advantages, but also quite a few pitfalls and problems. For a very long time, the system did not allow users to change the default applications for an incomprehensible reason, but that will change with the arrival of iOS and iPadOS 14.

In web browsers and mail clients from Google, Microsoft, but also other developers, it has been possible to change what web pages or e-mails will be opened in for some time. Now it will finally work in the system, as revealed by one of the images in the presentation, but we will most likely learn the details only from the beta versions. Specifically, it is about changing the default web browser and email client, where after a really long time the user can choose the software according to their own preferences. But we have to admit that Apple is far behind in this, as rival Android has had this feature for quite some time. Especially when the iPad is presented as a computer, I think it's very strange that this basic thing didn't come much earlier.

iOS 14

Here again it is shown that even Apple is not perfect and it was certainly not so much an element of security as the promotion of native applications. Fortunately, with the arrival of new systems, at least this will change for the better and we will be able to change our default applications.
