The Cupertino-based corporation was prepared for the first place by its great rival Google, which increased its value by a respectable 40 percent over the past year. The value of the Apple brand, on the other hand, fell by a fifth.

According to a study by analyst company Millward Brown, Apple's value has decreased by 20% over the past year, from $185 billion to $147 billion. The dollar value of the Google brand, on the other hand, rose from 113 to 158 billion. Apple's other big competitor, Samsung, also strengthened. He improved by one place from last year's 30th place in the ranking and saw an increase in the value of his brand by twenty-one percent from 21 billion to 25 billion dollars.

However, according to Millward Brown, Apple's main problem is not the numbers. What is more unpleasant is the fact that doubts are appearing more and more often, whether Apple is still the company that defines and changes the world of modern technology. Apple's financial results are still excellent, and products designed in California are selling more than ever. But is Apple still the innovator and initiator of change?

Nevertheless, technology companies rule the world and the stock markets, and Microsoft, another company from this sector, has also improved by three places in the ranking. The value of the company from Redmond also grew by a full fifth, from 69 to 90 billion dollars. The IBM corporation, on the other hand, recorded a drop of a negligible four percent. The largest increase from the category of technology companies was recorded by Facebook, which valued its brand by an incredible 68% from 21 to 35 billion dollars in one year.

It is clear that comparing companies according to the market value of their brands (brand value) is not the most objective assessment of their success and qualities. There are many scales to calculate a value of this type, and the result calculated by different analysts and analysis companies can vary significantly. However, even such statistics can create an interesting picture of current trends in the field of global companies and marketing.
