It looks like the launch of the iPhone XR will be very successful - at least in one segment of the global market. According to the latest analysis, the cheaper sibling of the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max could be even more successful in China than last year's iPhone 8. This is what analyst Ming Chi Kuo says.

The respected analyst said in a new report that he expects a 10% to 15% year-on-year decline in the overall smartphone market, with Chinese brands having to rely on international sales for growth. According to him, demand for the iPhone XR should be better than last year's demand for the iPhone 8 line. As for the decline in Chinese brands, according to Kuo, among the factors that may contribute to it, in addition to problems with innovation, is also the decline in customer confidence caused by a potential trade war. According to Kuo, customers preferred more affordable iPhone models and expect to purchase the iPhone XR.

Although the iPhone XR is the cheapest of this year's models, it is definitely not a bad phone. It is powered by the A12 Bionic chip in the Neural Engine and its body is made of durable 7000 series aluminum covered with glass panels. Its display, like the iPhone XS display, extends from edge to edge, but instead of a Super Retina OLED display, in this case it is a 6,1-inch Liquid Retina display. The iPhone XR features Face ID and an improved wide-angle camera.

One of the reasons for the potential success of the new iPhones in China is also the support of dual SIM cards, which is in high demand in this area. China will be the only market where iPhones with physical dual SIM support will be distributed - in the rest of the world, it will be phones with a traditional single SIM slot and e-SIM support.
