In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.
Production of the upcoming MacBook Pro will start in the second half of 2021
If you are a regular reader of our magazine, then you are already familiar with the upcoming Apple laptops. Apple is intensively preparing for the release of the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro, while both models will be fitted with the successor to the M1 chip from the Apple Silicon family as part of a two-year cycle during which the Cupertino company is preparing to switch from processors from Intel to its own solution. After all, this was also commented on by the renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who confirmed these predictions. We are currently from the source Nikkei Asia they also learned about time plans, which reveal more information to us.
Kuo previously mentioned that we will see the introduction of these two models during the second half of 2021. Today's fresh information from Nikkei Asia talks about the start of production of these new Macs, the start of which was first dated to May or June, but now it has been moved to the second half year. It starts in July, so it can be expected that the plans for the show will not be affected in any way. In addition to significantly better performance, these new pieces should also offer Mini-LED technology for better display quality, a design with sharper edges, an SD card reader and HDMI port, power through the iconic MagSafe connector and physical buttons instead of the Touch Bar. Are you planning to buy one of these Macs?
1Password has received native support on Apple Silicon
Internet security is extremely important and should not be underestimated. This is precisely why it pays to bet on sufficiently strong passwords on various sites, which can be quite effectively helped by the native Keychain on iCloud, which unfortunately has certain limits. A significantly better and more popular solution in this regard is the 1Password program. It is available on a subscription basis and can work on all platforms, taking care of storing passwords, logins, payment card information, private notes and many more. We are currently seeing the release of a new update that brings with it native support for Macs with Apple Silicon.
The aforementioned native support comes with version 7.8, which developers have been working hard on since the first Macs with the M1 chip were introduced last November. At the same time, they mention in their notes that they were enchanted by the incredible speed and performance of these devices, while they hope for the arrival of a 16″ MacBook Pro with an Apple Silicon chip. The update should also fix several bugs and bring performance optimizations. If you also use 1Password, you can download the new version directly from the official website here. This update is not yet available on the Mac App Store.

A new MAC is kind of on the cards, but not necessarily. Currently, a person already has so many computers at home for home office ;-).
In any case, I changed my mind about the M1, because even at Apple, version 1 of something is not completely idealized. In most cases, version 2 solves 90-95% of the problem, so if the new versions are like version 2, then maybe ;-).
1Password is interesting when you buy it at work, because then you have it at home for free. Otherwise, in my opinion, it is too expensive a strand (there should be some kind of subscription for households for a reasonable crown). I still have a version that didn't need a subscription, so I'll be fine with that ;-). As soon as this version of mine goes to the monthly payment, I will switch...
However, the key needs to check passwords well with stolen databases, which at least my version of 1password didn't do. So either I need a version with a monthly payment for that, or they are missing quite an interesting function (at least I trust Apple not to use it, I would be a little worried about the latter companies...).
Hello, 1Password is available as a family subscription for up to five members for $4,99 per month.
