To the agreement between Apple and IBM it happened last July and its purpose is to boost sales of iOS devices to the corporate sphere. Apple leaves nothing to chance and pays attention to every aspect of sales almost perfectionistically. The result is an apparently equal business association of two companies, which is actually ruled by Tim Cook and his company.

Apple's dictation manifests itself, for example, in that IBM salespeople are consistently forced to use only MacBooks and to present products exclusively using Apple's Keynote presentation software. Analyst Steven Milunovich from UBS informed investors that IBM salespeople are not allowed to use computers with the Windows operating system.

Nevertheless, Milunovich sees great potential in the alliance of long-time rivals. These two companies are not direct competitors in their current engagements and, on the contrary, have found in themselves a partner that can help them reach markets where they have not been very successful so far. Apple needs help to get into the enterprise sphere, and IBM, on the other hand, would appreciate a successful entry into the mobile technology market, an industry that currently rules the world.

Cooperation between the two companies in December brought the first wave of applications, which are directly intended for use within companies and corporations. These are applications designed specifically for the needs of specific companies, such as airlines or banks. However, Steven Milunovich told investors that Apple and IBM will also focus on more universal software products with a wider scope. These could include, for example, supply chain coordination tools or analytical software of all kinds.
