Apple recently added a boost from Tesla to its ranks. Steve MacManus worked at Musk's car company as an engineer, he was in charge of the exterior and interior of the manufactured cars. It has been several times that reinforcements from Tesla have moved to the Cupertino company - in March of this year, for example, former vice president of control systems Michael Schwekutsch came to Apple, and again last August Doug field.

According to the information on his profile at the LinkedIn network MacManus is a new senior director at Apple. He has worked at Tesla since 2015, and he is certainly no stranger to the automotive industry – he has worked for example at Bentley Motors, Aston Martin or Jaguar Land Rover. Bloomberg reports that Apple could use MacManus' experience (and not only) in designing interiors in the development of its own car, the realization of which has been alternately speculated for a number of years. However, MacManus could apply his skills and experience to other projects as well. Apple has not yet commented on the transfer.

Employee transfers between Tesla and Apple happen relatively often, and these transitions are often the cause of certain pressures. Elon Musk himself v in one of his interviews in 2015, he called Apple a "Tesla graveyard", and some analysts are talking about a possible partnership between Cook and Musk's company.

The fact that Apple is developing its own autonomous vehicle (as well as the fact that it is putting the project on ice) has been speculated for many years, but there is no clear evidence for or against it yet. There is talk of both the development of a self-driving car as such and the development of software. Well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts the arrival of the Apple brand car in 2023-2025.
