AppBox Pro is a universal application for the iPhone that replaces several sub-applications. This multifunctional assistant offers a number of useful options.

The entire AppBox is basically a package of individual widgets. From system tools displaying e.g. battery or memory status, to a currency converter or multilingual translator, to a menstrual calendar - AppBox can easily handle all of this. But let's take a closer look at all the individual functions.

Battery Life (battery life)
Thanks to this widget, you immediately have an overview of the battery percentage in your iPhone and how much time you have left to use the individual functions of the iPhone, which are defined in Battery Life. Specifically, it is a call on a 2G network, a call on a 3G network, surfing using an operator connection, surfing using Wi-Fi, watching videos, playing games or using other applications from the AppStore, listening to music and keeping the iPhone in locked mode.

clinometer (inclinometer)
This widget uses a motion sensor. You can use it as a spirit level or measure the slope of a horizontal surface in the X and Y axes. It can be measured in several units, degrees are of course not missing. You can quickly switch between measuring with the help of a bubble and the slope of the surface with a button. The current status can be locked. You can of course completely calibrate the clinometer.

Currency (currency converter)
All kinds of currency converters are available on the Internet in the form of websites, but getting to them quickly when you need them is not always possible and certainly not easy. Such a converter is always available in AppBox. When needed and you're online, the exchange rate will update itself, so you don't have to worry about using a particularly outdated converter. In addition, you can force the update at any time, so you don't have to rely only on the automatic.

Dashboard (quick overview)
This widget serves as a small AppBox signpost and quick overview combining information from other widgets. You can also easily set it as your welcome page right after launching AppBox.

datecalc (counting the days)
Here you can easily calculate how many days are between the dates you define. So I can easily find that there are 5 days left from November 2009, 24 to December 2010, 414. You can also easily find out what a particular date will be in a day or how much it will be by adding so and so many days to such and such a date. 5.11.2009/55/30.12.2009 + XNUMX days is therefore XNUMX/XNUMX/XNUMX, Wednesday.

Days until (events)
You can easily save events with a defined start and end in this widget. So if you don't need all the features of the default calendar and you don't need the iPhone to notify you, Days Until is probably a suitable solution. You can also attach a photo to each of the events and set how early a badge (a red circle with a value) appears on the AppBox application icon that the set event is coming. Among other things, upcoming events will also be displayed on the Dashboard.

Flashlight (lamp)
The purpose of this widget is simple. The way it works is just as simple – by default, white is displayed over the entire display (the color can therefore be adjusted). But this is more than enough to illuminate in the dark, especially if you set the brightness value in the iPhone settings to the maximum before using the Flashlight.

Holidays (holidays)
In this widget, there is a predefined list of holidays for different states (the list of states can be set). The point of Holidays is that you can quickly see not only the date of the given holiday for the current year, but also for the previous and following ones. So, for example, I can easily find out that in 2024 the New Year will be on a Saturday.

Loan (loan calculator)
In this calculator, you can easily calculate whether the loan will pay off for you or not. Not only that - of course there are more possibilities of use. You enter the total amount, the repayment date, the interest in percentage and the date when the first installment starts. Loan quickly calculates the amount of monthly installments (including the monthly increase in interest), the total amount of interest and the resulting amount that the loan will cost you. You can also see the interest in the pie chart. The result can be sent by e-mail to anyone directly in AppBox. In Loan, there is also the possibility to compare two differently set loans - so I can, for example, quickly compare the amount of monthly installments of a loan for a year and a loan for 2 years. As the icing on the cake, there is a clear repayment schedule that Loan generates for you immediately.

pCalendar (menstrual calendar)
For women, the AppBox also has a fairly sophisticated menstrual calendar, which can be simply encoded with a four-digit numerical code. By adding a single period to the calendar, you will get an overview of the following 3 periods. For each entered period, you set when it started, when it ended, and also the length of the cycle - pCalendar is then based on these 3 data. In the general calendar, you have the days of menstruation, days with an increased probability of conception and also the date of ovulation marked in a period of 2 months. The more real periods you enter into the application, the more accurate the estimate will be.

Price Grab (price comparison)
You are at the store and you are going to get crisps. An ordinary 50g packet of crisps costs, say, CZK 10, and they have a large 300g bucket for CZK 50. What is more convenient for you? So is it worth investing in a big bucket? Price Grab will help you with this problem very quickly. You enter the prices of both products and their quantity (so, for example, size, weight or number) and suddenly you have a comparison in front of you in the form of a bar graph and you can clearly see which is more advantageous.

Random (random number)
If you happen to need to generate a random number (I've found myself in this situation more than once), you can use Random. You enter the range in which the random number should move and that's it.

Ruler (ruler)
The usability of the ruler on the iPhone display falters a little for me, but it's not lacking either. Centimeters and inches are available as units.

Sale Price (Price after discount)
With this widget, it will never be a problem to calculate how much a product will cost you after the discount. With the slider (or manual entry) you can specify a percentage discount and also an additional discount. There is also the option to set the tax amount. After entering these data, you can easily find out not only the price after the discount, but also how much money you will save.

System Info (system information)
If you're wondering how your RAM or flash storage is doing for your data, you can check System Info. Everything is displayed in two pie charts.

Tip Calc
If you need to calculate the tip amount and divide it among several people, you can here. Personally, I completely miss the point, but so be it.

Translator (translator)
This widget will machine translate the text you enter. There are really many languages to choose from, the translation takes place online via Google Translate and is sent directly to the application, which saves not only time, but also the transferred data. You can also add a given translation to your favorites so you can return to it later. Of course, Czech is not missing.

Unit (unit conversion)
What more to add. In the Unit widget, you can easily convert units of all kinds of quantities - from angle to energy to units of information.

Google Books, Collapse and Apple Web Apps
What to add - these 3 web applications written directly for the iPhone also found a place in AppBox. The mobile version of Google's book search engine, the package web games (they're really primitive) in Collapse and Apple's iPhone Web App Database.

Widget icons on the main menu can be removed and moved in the AppBox settings. You can also easily create a web application icon by either choosing from a list or adding your own URL. In the settings, you can also select the default widget that appears immediately after starting AppBox, and also export (backup) all data to the server, or restore from a previous backup.

záver
As I said before, AppBox Pro replaces several sub-applications for me and it does it very well - it often brings even better and more comfortable services. And for that price? You must have it.
