Apple picker BarBox is a music service that provides visitors of various establishments with the opportunity to choose the songs they would like to listen to in the given place. About BarBox as a modern jukebox we have already written Since then, the service has come a long way and now BarBox works in 71 businesses and is used by over 18 users, and is constantly evolving and now brings the following news.
"In the second half of last year, we ended our cooperation with the music provider Deezer and decided to create our own music database. At first it seemed like complete madness, but today we are happy to announce that we did it," says Yan Renelt, one of the founders of BarBox.
“This step brought benefits not only to us, but especially to businesses and their visitors; now we can fulfill their wishes much faster. We also became independent of other services that were holding us back in our development," adds Renelt.
The main improvements include, for example, comparing the volume of songs to the same sound level or blending songs so that no so-called dead spots occur during music playback. Users can also now send requests from their mobile phone to add a song to the music database if they can't find it in BarBox.
These songs are added by the next day at the latest. Since the launch of the new version last December, BarBox has received 1 requests, all of which are already in the database.
For businesses, BarBox also now offers OSA and Intergram fee solutions under favorable conditions. Through its own music database, BarBox maintains absolute control and overview over the entire system and at the same time generates a number of interesting statistical data, such as a list of the TOP 12 most played songs by users:

Users upload the most songs in RockCafe (Prague), BowlingBar Primetice (Přímětice), KáDéčko Bar & Grill (Hodkovice nad Mohelkou), Café Baribal (Prague) and Café Fratelli (Brno).
As of December 2015, BarBox has played a total of 285 songs in 429 businesses. Each business uses the BarBox app for an average of 71 hours and 5 minutes each day.
"And not to be outdone, users of iOS or Android smart watches will also benefit," adds Yan Renelt, explaining: "The BarBox app will show on the watch what song is currently playing or how long the inserted song will play."
