Alza started supporting Apple Pay today. The largest domestic e-shop has added a new payment method to its application for iOS, offering Czech Apple users simple, safe and fast payments with one click. In the coming weeks, Alza wants to offer the apple service directly on its website.

Already when Apple Pay entered the Czech Republic two weeks ago, Alza made it known that it had ambitions to become one of the first Czech sellers to offer the service. That is what happened, and the fact that the company had been preparing for the arrival of the new payment method since the end of 2018 clearly played a role.

"We intensively follow the developments in the field of financial and other services, and if an interesting novelty appears, we want to be among the first to offer it to customers. Apple Pay makes shopping easier for hundreds of thousands of people around the world, so why not offer this convenience to people in the Czech Republic as well," stated Alza.cz financial director Jiří Ponrt. In addition, according to him, card payments are gaining in popularity, at the end of last year they already accounted for more than half of all transactions in Alza. "Our customers include a large number of Apple users, so we can expect this method to gain a following soon."

Payment via Apple Pay is possible in the Alza.cz application choose directly in the basket. Thanks to the payment card stored in Wallet on the iPhone and iPad, the customer pays the order literally with one click and only authorizes the transaction via Touch ID, Face ID or an access code. The main advantage of the service is above all speed and security.

For now, Alza has only implemented Apple Pay in its app. It should be possible to pay for a purchase directly on the e-shop through the MacBook within a few weeks, while the method is currently being tested.
