If you're a robot lover, I don't need to introduce you to Boston Dynamics. For those less familiar, this is an American company that currently develops and produces the most advanced robots in the world. You may have already seen these robots in various videos that are very popular and are circulating variously on Facebook, YouTube and other social networks. Among other things, we inform you about Boston Dynamics here and there in our magazine - for example in one of past IT summaries of the day. We will surely surprise you now when we say that the largest Czech e-shop has also started working with Boston Dynamics, Alza.cz.

At the outset, we can point out that Alza is the first company ever to bring a robot from Boston Dynamics to the Czech Republic. What are we going to lie to ourselves about, currently all technologies are moving forward at a rocket pace and it is only a matter of time before all shipments will be delivered to us by robots or drones. Even now, many of us even have a robotic vacuum cleaner or a robotic mower at home - so why shouldn't Alza have her own multi-purpose robot. You must be wondering what the other robot looks like and what it can actually do - it is shaped like a dog and has a label SPOT. That is also why Alza decided to name the robot thematically Dášenka. Alza wants to make robots from Boston Dynamics available to the general public and even added them to its product range a year ago, but in the end, they did not actually sell. In any case, that should change soon, and for about 2 million crowns, each of us could buy one such Dášenka.

Alza plans to use Dášenka in many different situations and environments. At Boston Dynamics, this robot, which is up to a meter long and weighs 30 kilos, was taught to move on different surfaces at speeds of up to 6 km/h. It is then assisted by 360° cameras in monitoring its surroundings, and in total it can carry weights of up to 14 kilograms. Dášenka can work for a full 90 minutes on a single charge, i.e. on a single battery. Thanks to four legs, Dášence has no problem moving up the stairs or overcoming obstacles, for example he can open a door with his robotic hand. In the end, Dášenka could deliver the order to you at the branch, in the future she could deliver it to your home. Anyway, at the moment it is not XNUMX% certain what the robot in Alza will help with. On Alza's Facebook pages however, you can propose different possibilities of use, and the author of the most interesting proposal will then be able to participate in the testing of Dášenka, which is an offer that can only occur once in a lifetime.
