This year's winter is particularly long and it may well happen that it will bring snow to the Czech roads a few more times. Drivers can easily get into many unpleasant situations during these months. It is therefore significant that just now the insurance company Allianz has released an interactive game Skid School, which will show motorists how to behave in such crisis situations.

Allianz is not new to the iOS and Android platforms, having previously released several apps for these platforms. Allianz on the go is a helper for crisis situations on the road, which is currently waiting for a major update. Weathersafe again the weather forecast with warnings of extremes. However, the most famous of them are Allianz Křižovatky, thanks to which users can practice quickly solving situations at intersections. Over 22 people in the Czech Republic have already downloaded this application, so Allianz intends to continue to focus on the topic of safety on Czech roads.

"After the success of Allianz Křizovatek, not only in the country, but also in Hungary, Russia and other countries, we are coming with a new application. Our Ski School is a convenient alternative to training directly at the autodrome, which not all of us have the chance to complete," says Pavel Jechort, head of Allianz's strategic marketing department.

The shear school contains two different components. First, they are educational videos in which experts explain how best to handle crisis situations. Using footage from the autodrome and additional infographics, we learn how to avoid a vehicle driving in the opposite direction or how to manage a skid in a real environment. Infographics and controls are clear and nice to look at, but the same cannot be said about videos.

Considering the quality of the displays of today's devices, it is a shame that the authors did not use better quality videos with a higher resolution. There are sometimes other problems with the playback of recordings, such as overlapping music and video soundtracks. Hopefully these bugs will be fixed in future updates.

The second part is an interactive game in which both drivers and non-drivers can deepen their knowledge and try it out directly. By tilting the tablet or mobile phone to the left and right, we guide the vehicle along a straight track, on which we find various traps. In four levels, increasingly difficult events await us, such as dodging boards, fixed obstacles, wet or icy surfaces. At the same time, we can test for ourselves how the brake works in such situations (i.e. counterproductive) or the clutch (on the contrary, it can save a lot) and perhaps even unlearn wrong reflexive behavior.

Despite the repetitive game mechanism, where the game is always fun for only a few minutes, there is also the motivation to finally master the rather demanding brake and clutch synchronization and to return to the game after some time and having watched the instructions. It wouldn't hurt to have more cars, traps, and tracks with skids in corners, where the game would realistically simulate understeer or oversteer. In this way, the user could really try out the situations he can get into. Such an experience would be more beneficial than just an instructional video.

The biggest motivation for good results is not the amount of content, but the leaderboard, which is available in the main menu. Every month, the ten best "riders" have a chance to win a prize in the form of a 50% discount on liability insurance from Allianz pojišťovna. All you have to do is register, which is easily possible directly from the application, and train honestly.

Allianz Skola smyku is available for all devices with the iOS system, possibly also for Android, both for mobile and for tablets. You can download it for free in the App Store.
