They have gained many fans all over the world in a short time and the reviews give them high marks - are they really that good?
Specification
a-Jays Four are closed ear hearing aids that adequately isolate the sounds of the surrounding environment. They are fully compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. They have a controller on the cable (just like the original headphones from Apple), which also has a built-in microphone - just for information, all the control buttons work even when connected to a Mac. They contain an 8,6 mm transducer. Sensitivity at 96 dB @ 1 kHz, impedance 16 Ω @ 1 kHz and frequency range from 20 to 21 Hz. In terms of design, there is something to look at and it is obvious that the headphones were designed in iPhone style (the controller itself looks like an elongated iPhone 000 :)). The advantage is undoubtedly the flat cable, which does not tend to get tangled and is terminated with a 4˚ angle end.
packing
First of all, the packaging, which has an interesting oval shape and is made of elegant matte plastic, is sure to catch your eye. The package is equipped with a security sticker that serves as an indicator whether the package has already been opened. After successful opening (for which you will need a long fingernail or other hard and small object) you will be greeted by a manual, earphones and a set of 5 different ear tips (from XXS to L).
Sound quality
Here I was pleasantly surprised, as I expected a slightly worse presentation. I could compare it with headphones Beats Tour, which came out of this fight rather than the loser, despite the double price. I have no comment in this regard. The sound presentation is balanced, the bass does not drown out other tones and is nevertheless vigorous and well presented. It's the same with pitches that won't cut your ears. According to my taste, they are suitable for all types of music from classical to hip hop. However, it should be borne in mind that it is almost impossible to adjust the full volume on the headphones, because it is simply too many dB for the normal ear. Regarding this, I recommend you to read the manual, where you will find a clear graph of the dependence of listening time on dB.

- due to the fact that the cable is wide and the controller is also on it, it is also quite heavy, which can be uncomfortable when walking - a simple clip to clip the cable to your t-shirt would solve this
In conclusion, there is nothing left but to recommend the headphones to everyone who is considering switching to a better sound performance and keeping the controller for device control at the moment. If you have a white iPhone 4, I recommend waiting for the white edition, which looks very nice according to the pictures. It will be available this summer. I've had the headphones for a little over a month now, and I have to confirm the quality of the music performance. Despite the great satisfaction, I will mention some minor negatives:
– I use them mainly for sports and the controller is quite heavy, so, for example, when running, it is necessary to take into account the unpleasant "wobble" of the cable. Do not look for a clip on the attachment..
– Despite the fact that these are in-ear headphones, they do not completely dampen the surrounding noise. For me, it works out, for example, when riding a bike.
– I listen to koss porta pro at work, and at first it took me a long time to get used to the much smaller bass. This a-Jays model has a really beautiful clean sound, but it doesn't overdo it with bass, so if you like a lot of deep tones, consider another model.
Despite the mentioned negatives, I am satisfied and would probably reach for them again..
@mk: The peeling of the cable is probably starting to affect me too... We'll see in time, but if it's a general feature, it's quite sad. After all, these are not headphones for five hundred...
In terms of sound, they are not bad at all (the so-called burn in is a necessity for better listening), but I would not buy them again. Mainly because of the material that is used on the controller on the cable and which started to peel off during the first day, which looks really poor quality. The wide cable is a great thing, because it doesn't get tangled, but it's not at all pliable and it twists unnecessarily with every movement, because it's rubberized, which makes the cable look quite ugly. Even though it has many sizes of spikes, none of them fit me quite as well as I would have imagined (subjective impression) and unfortunately they don't dampen the surrounding noise very much, even headphones for 300 NOK dampened it much better. Unfortunately, the headphones have pointed corners that often cut into my ear, which is probably not the best choice from a design point of view either.
Despite all these negatives, there are also a lot of positives, which are probably from the review :-)
I had a lot of headphones on my iPhone - even the more expensive ones, but I have to say that I'm probably stuck. Excellent quality, comfortable in the ears (doesn't fall out, doesn't matter after long wearing like for example with other brands).
I also have the mentioned peeling problem, and it's already quite obvious, I bought the headphones as soon as they had them in the guilds.
Although the price is not the smallest. If this is important to you, you can also buy other a-Jays, which differ only in terms of accessories and the fact that the Fours have a remote control.
Koss Porta Pro… I know it's a slightly different headphone format, but it's just the best. In my opinion, their sound is unmatched.
Michal: I probably don't mean anything to you about brands like Grado, AKG, Beyerdynamic. Otherwise, you wouldn't say such nonsense that Ports are the best. Over-bassed meat loin. I recommend that you go and try out counseling headphones and not jokes for a couple of hundred.
You don't have to attack right away... It's my opinion and I stand by it. I like the bass and, by the way, they are headphones for 1400,- (in the version with a lifetime warranty).

Yes, the problem with peeling the controller is a known thing. It's quite unpleasant because the headphones don't cost 5 crowns and they're not some cheap plastic pieces of something Apple calls headphones (I came across the ones in the iPhone package), but whatever. Yes, the controller is relatively heavy and if you have a specific ear shape, it is quite possible that the headphones will fall out of your ear while walking, but this is not a matter of course. What I don't like is the design of the cabling - I'll call it the "conductivity" of the sound, in short, if the cable rubs against the zip on your jacket when you're walking, and you don't play the music loud enough, in short, you'll hear the friction of the zip and not the sound of the music not to mention podcasts. This is personal experience. As for the listening quality, I will not comment here. Those who buy speakers at this price level know what they are buying. Let's not expect miracles, but it is still better than what Apple supplies for iZariadenia.
In my opinion, you shouldn't do reviews on headphones, it's biased and there are plenty of other websites and forums (cz/svk) on which users have much more experience, experience, experience...
