We have been waiting for new products from Apple for many months, and so far it seems that the Californian company has decided to resuscitate its older models. After the unveiling of the 8GB version of the iPhone 5C in March, this model is now reaching other countries, including the Czech Republic. It costs 13 crowns.
Originally, the smallest variant of the plastic iPhone in March discovered only in five countries, but now Apple has decided to offer the 8GB iPhone 5C in most other markets, at least the European ones report that this model has arrived. In the Czech Apple Online Store, we can find the 8GB iPhone 5C for 13 crowns, which is 490 crowns cheaper than the 1GB model. The currently sold iPhone 300S, also with 16GB capacity, costs 4 crowns.
However, the Apple Online Store wasn't just shut down tonight because of the smallest iPhone 5C, but also because of Mother's Day. Apple is now promoting the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display on the main page as an ideal gift for your moms, who can have anything engraved on the apple tablets for free. However, there are no discounts. Apple also launched a special section for Mother's Day Make mom a special day.
I remember when a new iPhone (4, 4S) with 16GB cost ~14000 new and it wasn't a plastic "toy".
Buyers will be found, but it's a matter of principle... Apple makes all new devices more expensive by about 2k, now I'm waiting for a potential new MacMini to become more expensive, but it will definitely be based on the principle of new Books (everything on the board without the possibility of replacement) and smaller ones...
"...all new devices are more expensive" - For example, MacBooks came with a lower price than their predecessors, so this is not entirely true.
I think the Air is the same, but the retina is two liters more expensive than the previous Pro, you can compare it even today at the store, where the 2012 13″ is offered for 32000 and the new retina for 34000.
But I'm not interested today, we're talking about the launch. I bought the Air a week after it went on sale, it was a bit cheaper than the model it was replacing.
I bought the Pro with Retina a month after the launch, it was $200 cheaper than the previous model (however, it only had 8GB instead of 4GB RAM), but the 8GB RAM version with a 256 SSD currently costs CZK 500 less than the previous, weaker configuration. (see the prices of last year's models before the launch of the new ones with Haswell in the picture)
Of course, back then MBPr was something new in a separate line (exaggerating). Now they are getting rid of the non-retina versions and I think they should have at least kept the price at the price of the old MBPs.
This laptop is nothing extra compared to the old series. Ok, it has fine resolution, that's all, every note will have that in a while. In addition, the iPad also has retina and does not cost 40k more compared to the second one just because of the display.
That's like if you sold an iPhone for 14k, then came out with a new fountain line for 24k, out of the blue got rid of the original line and only sold the new one with a fountain for 20k.
In short, they earn, what else. On the one hand, there is nothing to be surprised about.
And the latest Air got a basic 128GB SSD, while the previous one only had 64. Before that, there was an increase from 2 to 4GB of RAM.
That's true, and it was about time.
Well, there won't even be a difference in the cost of 16 and 32 GB for the phone, but they have to be proud of something, and they do it with better configurations.
5C is far from a plastic toy. The polycarbonate is very pleasant and when I touched it, it feels very solid compared to other manufacturers and is well made. Having the guts of an eSka, I can imagine myself buying one.
It is a fact that the 5c is a well-made phone, but the N9 and the first Lumia are not even made by mistake - the N9 was a revolutionary piece, no buttons, rounded edges of Gorilla glass on the display, perfect fit and design of the entire body - just a blast! – iPhones are great, but the N9 doesn't have it (I note on the processing side). I note that I exchanged the N9 for IP 4s and now I have 5s and hafo IP of all versions and I am satisfied, but there is no need to demonize APPLE. Others can do a good job - Nokia long ago!
And 8GB storage is ok? Users will probably have 6.7 GB of data left for their data, and this perhaps negates the philosophy of selling apps/games in the AppStore. Not to mention the camera and videos. Compared to the significantly cheaper Lumias, I don't see any added value, except maybe the AppStore, but it's the incredibly poor capacity of the 5c in 2014 that kills it.
I fully agree with that, I'm just saying that there used to be a metal phone with more memory for the same price.
As a "second" phone, it's simply overpriced. It doesn't make sense to me, who would want 8GB for that money, when you can buy a 2S for twice the price of the memory. In my opinion, this model has no place in markets like CR. I personally don't know anyone who has a 5C. Either everyone has a 5S because it's simply worth it, or they all already have a 4S because the new model was released and in a better package.
The iPhone 5C is really nice. I was afraid of the processing, but they did a great job. Nowadays, 8GB is not enough, but for someone, some lady, who would not need so much space and it would be enough for a few WhatsApps, Facebook and other internet sites, it is absolutely perfect. The only problem is the price, I really don't like it and for that it has my big criticism, unfortunately.
