You certainly know that Apple has released iOS 16. You probably also know the main news, such as a complete redesign of the lock screen, modified focus modes or expanded options for working with e-mail messages. But we've gone through all the changes and here are the less publicized ones that you might use but probably don't even know about.

Condition

If you don't own an Apple Watch, you've probably ignored the Fitness app until now. However, iOS 16 already takes into account that you might want to achieve your goals with just an iPhone. Data from your iPhone's motion sensors, the number of steps you take, the distance you walk, and training logs from third-party apps are used to estimate the number of calories burned, which count toward your daily exercise goal. Interestingly, iOS 16 was released on Monday and the app shows data from Sunday as well. So in my case, it probably pulled the data from Garmin Connect, which still gave me Sunday's summary on Monday.

Dictionary

Even though we still haven't seen Siri in Czech, Apple is making progress with our language. His dictionaries thus received seven new bilingual dictionaries. You can find them in Settings -> In general -> Dictionary. Apart from Czech-English, there are Bengali-English, Finnish-English, Canadian-English, Hungarian-English, Malayalam-English and Turkish-English. Speaking of language, two new system localizations have also been added, namely Bulgarian and Kazakh.

FaceTime

Finding apps that support SharePlay was quite difficult. But now in the call interface you can see which of your installed applications support this function, you can discover new ones in the App Store. Collaboration in the Files, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Notes, Reminders or Safari applications also works in FaceTim.

Memoji

Apple keeps improving its Memoji, but they still don't get much success. The new system brings them six new poses, 17 new and improved hairstyles including, for example, boxer braids, more nose shapes, headgear or natural lip shades.

Music recognition

Tracks recognized in Control Center now sync with Shazam. It is quite surprising that Apple is adding this function only now, when it bought the platform already in 2018. Shazam is also newly integrated into search.

Spotlight

You can access Spotlight directly from the bottom edge of the screen, where the dots referring to the number of pages otherwise appear. But the swipe down gesture still works. Apple is focusing more and more on search, and directly displaying the Search option should provide users with a quick shortcut.

Stocks

If you use the Apple Stocks application, it now contains information about publishing the financial results of companies and companies. In addition, you can add these dates directly to the calendar and thus be exactly in the picture.

Weather

In iOS 16, when you tap any 10-day forecast module, you'll see detailed information. These are hourly forecasts for temperatures, precipitation and more. At the same time, Apple is terminating the operation of the purchased Dark Sky platform, whose forecasting experience it tried to implement in Weather already with iOS 15.
