Apple TV also includes a brand new redesigned Apple TV Remote. Unlike the previous generation Siri Remote, which was equipped with a touch surface, the Apple TV Remote has a control clickpad. A Lightning cable is required to charge the new controller, just like the previous model. Pay attention to the packaging
If you look carefully at the description of the packaging of the new Apple TV 4K on the official Apple e-shop, you may notice that an HDMI cable is missing from the box. When speculation began about a possible new generation of Apple TV, there was talk, among other things, that its controller could be equipped with a U1 chip. This component makes it easy to search for a given subject, for example through the native Find application. Apple equipped its iPhone 1, iPhone 11, and also this year's AirTag locators with the U12 chip, but you would look for it in vain with the Siri Remote.
Apple still offers Apple TV HD, don't buy it
As is (not only) the case with Apple, together with the release of this year's Apple TV HD, the Apple TV 4K from 2017 disappeared from the offer of the Apple e-shop. However, you can still buy the Apple TV HD from 2015 on the Apple website. you do, we recommend that you reconsider the reasons that would lead you to such a step. The difference in the price of the two models is only 800 crowns, but the difference in quality is considerable, not to mention the fact that it is not clear how long Apple TV HD will offer support for further updates of the tvOS operating system.
Image calibration even on older Apple TVs
Another novelty, which is not only related to the latest Apple TV 4K model, is the possibility of image calibration via iPhone. You will now be able to calibrate and adjust the picture parameters of your TV using your iPhone. You will first need to activate the feature in Settings -> Video & Audio on your Apple TV and then simply hold your iPhone in front of your TV screen. The screen will flash a few times while the iPhone measures and records the given colors and then provides your Apple TV with the information needed to adjust the colors. Calibration will be possible with iPhones with Face ID and will also be available with older Apple TV models.
