Change view

In the native Notes app, you can easily switch between list view and gallery view on all your Apple devices, giving you previews of all your notes. To change the notes overview view, click in the upper-right corner of the Notes app window on Mac button icon with tiles, possibly with a list symbol.

Tags

Not only on Mac, you can mark individual notes with labels, thanks to which you can find, sort and group them more easily. The procedure is really very simple - just add it to the note symbol #, followed by the appropriate label. For obvious reasons, the name of the label must not contain spaces, but you can replace them with, for example, an underscore or a period.

Fingerprint security

If you're using a Mac with Touch ID and you have locked notes in your list, you can set up Touch ID to unlock those notes on your Mac. With Notes running, click on the toolbar at the top of your Mac Notes -> Preferences. On the main page of the preferences window, you just need to check the item Use Touch ID.

Dynamic folders

If you label your notes, you can have them automatically grouped into so-called dynamic folders. To create a new dynamic folder, with the Notes app running, click on the toolbar at the top of your Mac screen File -> New Dynamic Folder. Then just set the individual parameters of the new dynamic folder.

Change the order of notes

With native Notes on Mac, you also have the ability to fully customize how the notes in your list are sorted. To manage the sorting of your notes, with Notes running, in the toolbar at the top of your Mac screen, click Notes -> Settings. At the top of the preferences window, you will find the next item Sorting notes a drop-down menu where you can specify how the notes will be sorted.
