Customizing the display System settings

System settings can be confusing for many users, especially compared to earlier System Preferences. Unfortunately, it is not possible to switch to the old view, but you can customize the System Settings view so that it is a little clearer for you and that you do not have to spend an unnecessary amount of time in it. To customize settings, click in the upper-left corner of your Mac screen  menu -> System settings, and then click on the bar at the top of the screen Display.

Text clippings

The macOS operating system also offers an unobtrusive but very handy function that makes it easier, more efficient and faster for you to work with text. For example, if you want to save a piece of text from any web page, you don't need to manually copy it, open the appropriate application, and then manually paste it into it. All you have to do is mark the text, drag it to the desktop, and from there open it again at any time and continue working with it.

Recent apps in the Dock

The Dock on Mac offers a wealth of customization options that you can use to benefit your productivity. One of them is setting the display of recent applications in the Dock. You can make this setting in  menu -> System Settings -> Desktop and Dock. Then activate the item in the main settings window Show recent apps in the Dock.

Search and replace

You can also rename files in bulk on Mac efficiently and quickly using the text search and replace function. If you want to bulk rename multiple files at once, just highlight them in the Finder and right-click on one of them. IN menu, which is displayed, select it Rename and in the following window, click on the first drop-down menu. Choose Replace text, fill in both fields and click on Rename.

Pause file copying

If you copy a large number of files at once on your Mac, or if you copy large amounts of content, it can overload your computer, slow it down, and prevent you from working. If you need to quickly do other work while copying, you can simply move to the copy area windows with data on the progress of the entire operation and on the right click on X. Once you see the copied file again with a small spinning arrow in the name, copying is paused. To restore it, just click on the file with the right mouse button and select in the menu Continue copying.
