Native Reminders is a very useful application with many options that you can use on practically all of your Apple devices. Today, we're focusing on Reminders for Mac, and we're going to show you five tips and tricks that will make using the app even better for you.

Voice input

Voice input works great in a huge number of apps on your Mac, and Reminders is no exception. With this feature, you can dictate your comments without having to use the keyboard. To enable voice input, click the  menu in the upper-left corner of your Mac screen, choose System Preferences and click on Keyboard. In the keyboard preferences window, click the tab Dictation a activate voice input.

Location-based reminders

On a Mac, just like on an iPhone, you can assign a specific location to reminders, so that the relevant notification will appear on your iPhone or Apple Watch when you arrive at that location. But all your devices need to be signed in to the same Apple ID. To add a location to a reminder on a Mac, click below the reminder add location, and enter the necessary details.

Comments in messages

Do you need to tell someone something important in a message, but are you afraid that you will forget it when you write with that person? Reminders will help you with this. First, create a note with what you want to tell the person. Then, to the right of the reminder, click on "i" icon circled, check the option When exchanging messages with a person a add the appropriate contact.

Change the default saving of reminders

In the Reminders app, all newly created reminders are automatically saved to the Today section by default. To change this setting, click on the toolbar at the top of your Mac's screen Reminders -> Preferences and in the item's drop-down menu Default list make the necessary changes.

Siri will help you

You can also create reminders with the help of the virtual voice assistant Siri. Due to the absence of Czech in Siri, your options are somewhat limited (especially if you name your reminder lists in Czech), but even so, Siri can handle a lot. Handles type commands "Hey Siri, remind me about [task]", "Remind me to send an email to [person] at [time]", and many others.
