The cursor is an integral part of Macs and virtually any other computer. It is with the help of the cursor, which we can control via a mouse or trackpad, that we can easily operate within operating systems – we can browse websites, work in folders, play games and much more. Within macOS, there are several different options through which the cursor or its behavior can be modified in certain ways. Let's look at 5 of them together in this article.

Change of size

By default, the cursor on a Mac is set to the smallest possible size. Most users are comfortable with this size, but of course there may also be those who would like a larger cursor. If you are among the elderly, or if you have poor vision, you can easily change the size of the cursor. Just go to  → System Preferences → Accessibility → Monitor → Pointer, where are you using slider set the size.

Color selection

If you look at the cursor in macOS, you may notice that it has a black color and a white border. This color combination is not chosen by chance, on the contrary, it is a combination that they are able to see on practically any surface. But if this color of the fill and outline of the cursor does not suit you, you can choose your own color. Just go to  → System Preferences → Accessibility → Monitor → Pointer, where are you Pointer outline color a Pointer fill color choose your own color.

Magnification by shaking

Are you using multiple monitors with your Apple computer? Or do you often leave the cursor somewhere with one monitor and can't find it in the open windows? If you recognize yourself in this, I have a great feature for you that can help in this situation. In particular, you can activate a function that makes the cursor several times larger after shaking, so you can see it right away. You activate this function in  → System Preferences → Accessibility → Monitor → Pointer, where activate possibility Highlight the mouse pointer with a shake.

Double click speed

With the cursor, it is necessary to click to open various items. By double-clicking, you can open various menus, etc. However, some users may not be satisfied with the default double-click speed. But Apple thought of this too, and you can easily adjust this speed. Just go to  → System Preferences → Accessibility → Pointer Control → Mouse and Trackpad, where you use the slider Double click speed set up.

Head control

At the end of this article, I have prepared a specialty for you that you probably won't use every day, but it's definitely worth trying. macOS includes a function that makes it possible to simply control the cursor with your head. This means that where you move your head, the cursor will move there. If you would like to try controlling the cursor with your head, go to  → System Preferences → Accessibility → Pointer Control → Alternate Control, where then activate possibility Turn on head pointer control. Click on Elections… you will see more options.
