Have you only had your Apple Watch for a short time, or have you only used it marginally up until now, and would you like to start using all of its functions more? The Apple Watch offers a lot of great options to customize notifications, ringtones and many other things. In today's article, we bring you five tips with which you can customize your Apple Watch even better.

Unlocking iPhone

The latest versions of the operating systems for iPhone and Apple Watch allow unlocking and locking the iPhone using the watch. This function is especially useful if your mouth and nose are covered, and thus it is not possible to unlock the phone classically using the Face ID function. To activate iPhone unlock using Apple Watch, run on the paired phone Settings -> Face ID and code where in the section Unlock using Apple Watch you activate the corresponding function.

Launch applications from the Dock

Apple Watch includes – just like for example Mac, iPhone or iPad – a Dock from which you can launch applications easily and quickly. Unlike the mentioned devices, however, it is Dock on Apple Watch hidden in a way. Just press to display it side button – you will see the applications in the order in which they were last launched.

Quieting by laying on the hand

Apple Watch can also serve as an "extension" of our iPhone, thanks to which we will not miss any notification or call. But there are situations when you don't want to be disturbed, you don't want to reject an incoming call, but you don't have silent mode activated. In such situations, you can use the hands silence function. First, launch the app on your iPhone Watch, where you tap on Sounds and haptics. Drive all the way down and activate the function Silence by covering – during an incoming call, all you have to do is gently cover the Apple Watch display with your hand.

Activate Siri by raising your wrist

You can activate the Siri voice assistant on your Apple Watch by long pressing the digital watch crown. However, on Apple Watch Series 3 and later with watchOS 5 and later, you can also use the movement of your wrist towards your face to activate Siri, when all you have to do is speak to Siri. You can activate this feature on your watch by tapping on Settings -> Siri, and you activate the function Raising the wrist.

Manage notifications

Notifications on the display of your Apple Watch can sometimes be confusing and you may have problems getting your bearings. Fortunately, the watchOS operating system offers great options for effectively managing notifications directly on the watch display. You can get to the notification overview simply by: swipe down from the top of the display. You can then delete the notification by moving its panel to the left and tapping on the cross, you can preview the notification by tapping.
