If you regularly read our magazine, you surely know that Apple released new versions of its operating systems a few weeks ago at this year's WWDC conference. Specifically, iOS and iPadOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura and watchOS 9 have been released, with all of these systems currently available in beta versions for all developers and testers. In our magazine, we are already covering all the news that is available, as there are many users who test the beta versions. In this article, we'll take a look at 5 new features in Notes from iOS 16.

Better organization

In Notes from iOS 16, we saw, for example, a slight change in the organization of notes. However, this change is definitely very pleasant. If you move to a folder in older versions of iOS, the notes will appear stacked under each other, without any division. In iOS 16, however, notes are now sorted by date, and into some categories based on when you last worked with them - i.e. for example Previous 30 days, Previous 7 days, individual months, years, etc.

New dynamic folder options

In addition to classic folders, it is also possible to use dynamic folders in Notes for a longer period of time, in which you can view specific notes that correspond to specified criteria. Dynamic folders in iOS 16 have received a perfect improvement, and now you can choose countless filters when creating and determine whether all or any of the selected ones must be met. To create a dynamic folder, go to the Notes app, go to the main page, and then tap on the bottom left folder icon with +. Subsequently you select a location and tap on Convert to dynamic folder, where you can find everything.

Quick notes anywhere in the system

If you want to quickly create a note on your iPhone, you can do so through the Control Center. However, in iOS 16, another option was added to quickly create a note, in practically any native application. If you decide to create a quick note in Safari, for example, the link you're on is automatically inserted into it - and it works this way in other applications as well. Of course, creating a quick note varies from application to application, but in most cases you just need to tap on share button (square with an arrow), and then select Add to quick note.

Cooperation

As most of you probably know, not only in Notes, but also, for example, in Reminders or Files, you can share individual notes, reminders or files with other people, which is simply useful in many situations. As part of iOS 16, this feature was given an official name Cooperation with the fact that you can now select the rights of individual users when starting cooperation in Notes. To start the collaboration, click on the top right of the note share icon. You can then click on the upper part of the bottom menu customize permissions, and then it's enough send an invitation.

Password lock

It is also possible to create such notes within the Notes application, which you can then lock. Until now, however, users had to create their own password to lock the notes, which was then used to unlock the notes. However, this changes with the arrival of iOS 16, as the note password and code lock are unified here, with the fact that, of course, notes can also be unlocked with the help of Touch ID or Face ID. To lock a note, just they went to the note, and then at the top right, tap on lock icon, and then on Lock it. The first time you lock in iOS 16, you'll see a passcode merge wizard to go through.
