Waze is a popular navigation app for mobile phones that was bought by Google in 2013. Compared to his Maps, however, it scores with the presence of a community with elements of a social network as well as an unmistakable design. That is also why planned news are always highly anticipated.

Electric cars

Electromobility is on the rise worldwide, so it's no wonder that as the popularity of electric cars grows, mobile apps must respond as well. In Waze, you will be able to choose your means of transport as an electric car as well as the type of its charging, thanks to which the application will present you with suitable charging stations. They will also be editable by the user, so this data should always be up to date. The novelty is already being introduced into the application, it should be available worldwide in a matter of weeks.

Displaying dangerous roads

If you come across red-colored roads in the application, these are the ones with a frequent occurrence of traffic accidents. There is also an appropriate icon to emphasize caution, which is shown to you well in advance. The result is that you should anticipate the possible danger and adjust your driving accordingly.

Waze natively

Waze is primarily used in smartphones and possibly add-ons such as CarPlay or Android Auto. However, the platform also wants to work natively. It is already available in Renault Austral Hybrid and Renault Megane E-Tech cars, including in Europe. Renault cars are the first car manufacturer to offer Waze directly on the car's multimedia screen, without the need for a smartphone. However, it is not known how this feature will spread to other brands.

Apple Music

Waze includes an audio player that lets you control your music right in the app without having to switch anywhere. It understands platforms such as Deezer, Spotify, YouTube Music, TIDAL, TuneIn, and lastly, support for the Apple Music streaming platform was also integrated. The option to turn it on can be found in Settings and the prefix Audio Player.

Alternative routes

Only relatively recently, the application also introduced information about alternative routes and detours. These are now displayed as solid gray lines, with a tooltip informing you of how much time you would gain or lose with this variation or detour.
