We are in several weeks of a nationwide lockdown, and the current situation does not suggest that we will be leaving our homes and heading out into the world "out there" any time soon. So we still have no choice but to resort to video games and pass the time in virtual worlds, which not only offer relief in the form of diverting thoughts, but also help to kill time. In our series from last week, we went through the top 5 games from each genre for iOS, but we mustn't forget the Mac lovers who use their machine for something other than work. With another week, we open another chapter, where we will once again look at the most exciting titles. Only with the difference that this time we will start the list of the best action and FPS games.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Do you enjoy the cyberpunk atmosphere and don't want to miss good old Prague? In that case, there is nothing to solve. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided successfully follows on from its older brother and offers significantly more options and, above all, more diverse locations. There is a perfect graphic page, a vision of the near and increasingly real future, a lot of RPG elements and, above all, a story campaign that will make you freeze. As we already outlined at the beginning, in the game you will also look at Prague during your journey, so you can look forward to the occasional Czech dubbing, famous monuments and a combination of old and modern architecture. So if you want to play something during quarantine that deviates from the norm and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the world that almost inevitably awaits us, we recommend giving the game a chance. Aim for Steam and get the title for 29.99 euros. macOS X 10.13.1, Intel Core i5 3GHz, 8GB of RAM and an AMD R9 M290 graphics card with a capacity of 2GB of VRAM are all you need to play.

Metro 2033

The first and most important game on the list is the legendary Metro 2033, which takes you to Moscow several years after the atomic war. Most of the survivors hide in the dark tunnels of the subway and actively repel the attacks of mutants who relentlessly attack the populated stations. You will take on the role of Artőm, one of the soldiers who has spent almost his entire life in the subway. So it will be up to you to look to the surface, face the ubiquitous radioactivity and destroy the new threat in similarly dark beings. And it wouldn't be a proper FPS game if you didn't mow down a few dozen mutant creatures lurking in the shadows as you chase your quest. Just be careful, ammo is scarce and functional gas masks even less. So, if you have missed this legendary game (and of course book) series so far, we recommend heading to Steam and during the pandemic to try out what it would be like to roam the Moscow subway with a few cartridges in your pocket. You will need macOS 10.9.5 Maverick and higher, an Intel Core i5 clocked at 3.2GHz, 8GB of RAM and a Radeon HD7950 graphics card with a capacity of 3GB.

Borderlands 2

Remember that cartoonish, comic book-esque, shoot-'em-up shooter where you were constantly nabbed by a talking robot that resembled a moving garbage can? If not, then welcome to the world of Borderlands, where the impossible becomes real and the real impossible. No, seriously, any other crazy FPS game pales in envy and buries itself in the sand compared to this original effort. You will take on the role of one of the killers, who happens to be on the unknown planet Pandora, where countless dangerous creatures are rampant and bands of bandits organize raids on basically anyone who owns any valuable material. So it will be up to you to grab one of the weapons and set out to mow down the hordes of enemies. Don't expect an overly complicated story, but it will really entertain you and provide you with entertainment for hundreds of hours. So if you're in the mood to switch off for a while, unwind and laugh at the absurdity of this game, head over to Steam and don't hesitate to look into this wonderful world. You can get by with macOS 10.12 Sierra, a dual-core Intel Core processor clocked at 2.4GHz, 4GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 2600 or NVidia Geforce 8800.

Mad Max

There's never enough post-apocalyptic rampage during pandemic games. The game adaptation of the Mad Max film series took this statement too literally and came up with a bleak and uncompromising, desolate world where only bandits in four-wheeled monsters run around. There are roaring engines, racing through the wasteland in your tuned machine and fierce battles with enemies where you can use your extensive arsenal of weapons. Mad Max is based exclusively on RPG elements, so the game will last you a good few tens of hours, and if you decide to explore most of the world, the game time will climb to over 100 hours. Everything is complemented by a great visual aspect, an appropriate musical accompaniment that will get your blood pumping, and an insatiable desire to turn every grain of sand in the desert. So if you can't resist a quality RPG and like to go to bed with an iron rod in your hand, head on over to the shop and get the game for 449 crowns. You will need macOS 10.11.6, an Intel Core i5 clocked at 3.2Ghz and a standard graphics card with 2GB of VRAM.

Katana Zero

We will end up with something peaceful, pacifist and definitely not violent. In Katana Zero, we'll go back to the 80s and 90s, when arcade brutal butchers were sizzling, which with their addictive gameplay tied players to the screens for a long time. In addition, the game is heavily inspired by Hotline Miami, so you can expect a similar level system and the same elaborate options. The action will not burden you too much with the story, reflexes and frenetic gameplay that will not even let you breathe will play a role. You can get the game for $15 on Steam, you will need macOS 10.11 and higher, Intel Core i5-3210M and Intel HD Graphics 530 to play.
