While in the last series we focused on the 5 best iOS games from each genre, we must not leave out macOS lovers and owners of bloated Apple computers. We recognize that these are not primarily gaming machines, but the support from game developers is also not small, and it is safe to say that there is definitely no shortage of games. One way or another, we've already gone through the great action titles, so it's time for some real adventure games. However, these are not just any canapés that you blow in a few hours and immediately jump to the next game. In these five cases, these are completely unique pieces that you will think about for a long time and will not let you sleep. So let's take a look at the representatives of the best in the genre.

Layers of Fear

If you're done for fear and want to intersperse the chilly autumn time with something that will cause you endless nightmares, the horror adventure game Layers of Fear is a good choice. You will be a mad artist who is delirious, gives in to his hallucinations and gradually falls into darkness, while he wanders around his huge mansion and sees things that he probably doesn't want to frame. There is a mysterious atmosphere, an exploration of the surrounding environment, the possibility to interact with objects and, of course, elaborate startling scenes, thanks to which you will be digested in a flash. So if you want to take a trip to this wonderful world, head on over to the shop and get the game for 499 crowns. You will need macOS X 10.10, an Intel Core i5 clocked at 2.3Ghz and an Intel HD6100 graphics card with a capacity of 1GB.

Life is Strange

Let's take a break from gory horror for a moment and take a look at a game that is as strange and unexpected as life itself. Life is Strange offers a behind-the-scenes look into the life of a young student, Max Claufield, who, in a critical situation, discovers that she can control time. The vast majority of the game revolves around this ability, and remember that every decision you make will have consequences. In addition to original visuals, excellent musical accompaniment and a story that will often bring you to tears, the game offers the possibility to influence the plot. It will unfold purely based on your actions. In addition, the game is divided into 5 episodes, so you can dose the story and enjoy it gradually. If we had to recommend a game that will change your overall outlook on life and force you to reevaluate your previous actions, we would definitely choose Life is Strange. On Mac App Store you can also get the game for just 449 crowns. macOS X 10.11, a GHz dual-core Intel, 8GB of RAM and a 512MB graphics card are enough for smooth gaming.

Portal 2

Who does not know this cult puzzle series from Valve, which ended in 2011 with the second part, to the displeasure of all fans. In Portal, nothing awaits you but the exploration of the Aperture scientific complex, overseen by the artificial intelligence GLaDOS, who rules with a hard and uncompromising hand. The Mermpower wants to continue testing and it's up to you to put a stop to it and get to the core with your Gravity Gun by solving logic puzzles. The portal will give you a good airing and test your brain, so be prepared for at least a few somewhat frustrating hours, when you probably cannot avoid looking for instructions on YouTube or Google. In any case, this is an excellent way to train the mind and at the same time play with the physics, which are at a first-class level in the game. So don't hesitate to head over to Steam and buy the game for 8.19 euros, i.e. 216 crowns in conversion. macOS X 10.6.7, an Intel Core Duo clocked at 2GHz, 2GB of RAM and integrated graphics are all you need to play.

Observer

The remarkable cyberpunk adventure game Observer that hit our operating systems a few months ago came like a bolt from the blue. Coincidentally, the same developers behind the excellent Layers of Fear, which we already mentioned, are behind it. This time, however, you will look into a futuristic world where there is no such thing as privacy and integrity, and cybercriminals steal users' data right from their heads. You will assume the role of detective Daniel Lazarski, who works for the Chiron corporation and can hack into people's memories, thoughts and dreams. Your goal will be to search for your son, who disappeared in the Polish city of Krakow and was last seen in one of the local slums. The game is heavily inspired by Blade Runner, so there are holograms, over-technological environments and an endless stream of neon lights that shine at you from almost everywhere. So if you're looking for a game with a quality story that can surprise and differentiate itself from the competition, Observer is a safe bet. On Steam you can buy the game for as little as $29.99, and you will need macOS X 10.12.6, a 3GHz quad-core processor and a graphics card with 2GB of RAM to play smoothly.

Rise of the Tomb Rider

Who does not know the legendary and fearless Lara Croft, who heroically embarks on every adventure and sometimes, that is, almost every time, comes across a snag in the form of an artifact that even criminals want to get hold of. In addition to excellent adventure elements and puzzles, Rise of the Tomb Raider also offers the opportunity to upgrade your equipment, explore the vast game world, compete with enemies, or enjoy the detailed environment. Although it is not the latest installment, the exciting plot and excellent graphics will ensure that you will definitely have something to do for a few hours. So if you want to take a small trip during the enforced quarantine and travel ban, which you probably won't forget for the rest of your life, this game will let you do it. You buy the game on Steam already for 49.99 euros and you can already play with macOS X 10.13.4, Intel Core i5 2.3GHz, 8GB RAM and NVIDIA 680MX or AMD R9 M290 with a capacity of 2GB VRAM.
