You can argue to your heart's content, but if you don't smell a competing platform, comparing systems will only be opinion, not experience. Whether you prefer iOS or Android, it is true that both systems have something in common. It's no secret that Android is better than iOS in many ways. However, this list shows what exactly Apple's mobile operating system has an advantage over Google's.

Application

People often point to the quality of iOS apps versus their Android counterparts, and they're right. The reason is simple. If we do not count the iPhone SE, then every iPhone sold is of the top segment, so its owners who are willing to pay for it are also willing to spend for the appropriate content in it. So it pays for developers to focus on quality content because they get paid for it too.

It also often happens that no one cares about apps in Google Play anymore, but in iOS they are regularly updated. Many new cross-platform app features are also first tested on iOS before coming to Android (if at all). Most games simply work better on iOS, be it optimization or consistency.

updates

When it comes to Android updates, Samsung is the leader, providing 4 years on select devices, with another year of security updates thrown in. It also regularly releases monthly security updates. Although Apple is not so regular in these, on the other hand, it can provide the current system even to its much older devices - iOS 16, for example, is still running on the iPhone 8, which the company introduced in 2017. Google offers its new products three years of Android updates, other manufacturers in but they still fail considerably with this, when only two updates are the most common. After all, that's the minimum number that Google insists on.

Interoperability

AirDrop, Hand-off, and Continuity are features that help you create exemplary cohesion between the Apple devices you use. Although Google offers certain alternatives, such as Living nearby, Samsung can do Quick Share or Link to Windows, none of these tools are as elegant as those in the Apple ecosystem. It also has the benefit that you can make FaceTime calls and respond to iMessages on almost any device.

bloatware

Although you have pure Android in Google Pixels, it is an exception. Other manufacturers modify Android in their own image, sometimes better, sometimes worse. Samsung does it better with its One UI, but even so, you get a lot of other apps with the phone that you might not need and that usually can't even be deleted. The same goes for Xiaomi and others. Yes, even Apple has its apps in iOS, but it is the publisher and the system, which also applies to Google. In Android, you would be content with just its titles, but the manufacturers are trying to force theirs on you. Why? To use them to force you to buy their next smartphone.

Battery

Even though there are phones with huge batteries among Android devices, iPhones reign supreme thanks to the exemplary optimization between iOS and hardware. Apple can even afford to fit its phones with smaller batteries without sacrificing battery life. If you put the top iPhone and the top Android next to each other, then the first mentioned can handle more and last longer. This is necessary also because the Android manufacturer gives its smartphone not only a system from someone else, but also a chip and individual other components. Apple designs everything itself.
