Low power mode

Newer versions of the macOS operating system offer the option of enabling low power mode. This can be useful, for example, when you are traveling with your MacBook and you do not have the opportunity to connect it to the network. To activate low power mode, start on your Mac System Settings -> Battery, where you just need to head to the section Low power mode.

Optimized charging

MacBooks also offer an optimized charging feature that can significantly extend the battery life of your Apple laptop. If you want to turn on optimized charging on your MacBook, run System Settings -> Battery, in the section Battery health click on   and then activate Optimized charging.

Activation of automatic brightness

Having the display at full brightness all the time can have a big impact on how quickly your MacBook's battery will drain. So that you don't always have to manually adjust the brightness on the MacBook to the surrounding conditions in the Control Center, you can System Settings -> Monitors activate the item Adjust brightness automatically.

Quit applications

Some apps can also significantly affect how quickly your MacBook battery drains. If you want to find out which ones they are, run through Spotlight or Finder -> Utilities native tool named Activity monitor. At the top of the window of this utility, click on CPU and let the running processes be sorted by CPU%. At the top of the list, you'll see the most energy-hungry apps. To end them, just mark by clicking, then click on X in the upper left and confirm by clicking on End.
