But the thin profile also provided an opportunity to equip the machine with new technical solutions - and by that we don't just mean the presence of the M1 chip. The speakers, Ethernet port and headphone jack are unique.

It is precisely because of it that it is so thin and compact that it fits in even more places than before... that is, on any desk. The slim design is only 11,5 mm deep, and that's actually just because of the display technology. All hardware essentials are thus hidden in the "chin" under the display itself. The only exception is perhaps FaceTime HD camera with resolution 1080p, which is located above it.

The color combinations are based on the first iconic iMac G1 – blue, red, green, orange and purple were its basic palette. Now we have blue, pink, green, orange and purple, which are complemented by silver and yellow. The colors are not uniform, as it offers two shades, and the display frame is always white, which may not suit especially graphic designers, who will "take away" the attention of the eyes.

From the beginning, it looked like we were going with 3,5mm Jack they have already said goodbye to the headphone jack on the iMac. But no, the iMac 2021 still has it, Apple just moved it. Instead of the back side, it is now located on the left side. This in itself is not as interesting as why this is so. The new iMac is only 11,5 mm thick, but the headphone jack needs 14 millimeters. If it was at the back, you would simply pierce the display with it.

But the ethernet port didn't fit either. So Apple moved it to the power adapter. In addition, according to the company, it is absolutely "a great innovation" - so users do not have to be tied down by an extra cable. However, it still lacked one thing, and that is the SD card slot. Apple could have moved it from the back to the side, like the headphone jack, but instead removed it entirely. After all, it's easier, cheaper, and everyone uses the cloud anyway, or they already have the appropriate reductions, which forced them to use MacBooks.
