As in previous years, Apple is giving away gifts as part of the 12 Days of Gifts app, which you can download for free at App Store. The gifts are different, but like last year we can expect some apps and games from the App Store or songs, videos and books from the iTunes and iBookstore. Starting December 26, Apple will reveal one gift every day, so you can always find a list of them in this updated article. Don't forget, the gift is only valid for 24 hours.
Day 12
Recordings from the live concerts of the Rolling Stones are given to us by Apple on the last day of its gift campaign. Beast of Burden, Tumbling Dice and Doom & Gloom, which The Rolling Stones played at Hyde Park, are currently available for free download…
Day 11
It's the eleventh day and with it a fun arcade for iPhones and iPads. His name is Mr. Crab and you, in the role of a big crab, will have to jump as high as possible across the playing field and save as many small boxes as possible along the way. Of course, you will have to avoid many monsters.
Day 10
On the tenth day, Apple prepared a free short film for its users - Minion Madness. It is a spin-off of the animated film Despicable Me, featuring the villain Gru's comic sidekicks. The 2010 short film is 12 minutes long and contains only the English dub. Similarly, only Czech subtitles are available. The HD version takes up over 400 MB, the SD version is half the size.
Day 9
On the third day of the new year, as part of Apple's gifts, we can download three songs and three music videos from a live performance by British singer-songwriter Tom Odell. Odell is more of a newcomer to the music scene, he released his first album only last year, but he won the BRIT Awards in the Critics Choice category, and he also performed in Prague in November 2013.
Day 8
On the second of January, Apple is giving away a book again, and again only in English. This is a romantic story Pictures of Lily by Paige Toonová, which has not yet been published even in a Czech translation.
Day 7
Probably everyone knows the legendary hero Rayman. Apple has now decided that the popular jumper Rayman Jungle Run will be giving away as a free gift on New Year's Day. Download in the App Store.
Day 6
On the last day of 2013, Apple presents a themed mix by the famous Swedish DJ Avicii called New Year's Eve Mix, which came out a few weeks ago and originally cost five dollars. Today we get a mix of songs as a gift Hey brother, You make me a I Could Be the One. There is also an official video for the track You Make Me.
Day 5
On the fifth day, Apple prepared an already iconic image Home alone, in the original Home Alone. Only the English version is available in iTunes, however Czech users will be pleased with the presence of Czech subtitles. The Christmas comedy about Kevin McCallister, played by Macaulay Calkin, can be downloaded in both high and standard definition, i.e. 1080p, 720pi SD.
Day 4
For December 29, Apple is preparing another application, this time it will especially please children's users of iPhones and iPads, because it is Touch House. In Toca House, you will help with cleaning, ironing, washing dishes or planting flowers in 19 minigames. The game is intended primarily for children from two to six years old, but of course older people can also play it.
Day 3
On the third day, Apple does not please Czech users very much. He decided to give away the book, which in itself wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't only available in English. This is a title The Ice Princess by Camilla Läckberg. There is also a Czech translation Ice Age princess, but the one in the iBookstore we won't find, so apparently too many Czechs won't use today's gift.
Day 2
The next day, Apple prepared a very fun game for us Tiny thief, which normally costs 2,69 euros. You can read our review of this little thief adventure here and we remind you in advance that Tiny Thief is one of the most popular games in the Jablíčkáři editorial office. No one should hesitate to play Tiny Thief for free.
Day 1
The first gift is an exclusive Justin Timberlake EP, which was recorded from four concerts at the iTunes Festival. Download the album directly from the application.
"The gift is always valid for 24 hours..." - so if I download it I can only use it until midnight?
you can only download it for 24 hours, but use it as you like
OK :) Like Timberlake, I don't have to, but for the other gifts…
I have an iPhone 3GS, I can't use the app because I don't have iOS 7. Can I download free gifts without the app? Thanks
Yes, you can, even without an iOS device directly from iTunes. You just need to find a direct link to a specific gift on the Internet, or search for it manually.
Yes, that's why I installed the app? Because of Justin? The shit is gone, such a gift is worse than if they didn't give one.
Was it written somewhere that music will be given as a gift? I won't waste time.
It is written in the article. btw no one is forcing you to download it
What is this again? Who says that someone forced me to do something? I just thought that it was about gifts (apps/games), I will get the latter to my iPhone in another way (copying the purchased CD album) downloaded - we are in the Czech Republic/ downloads are legal..
and what is Tiny Tief? it is written in the article, it is a mix: music, books, APPLICATIONS...
Tiny Thief has been free for some time and there is no reason to download it even through this Apple app
Well, I don't know what kinds of things you mean! You just wrote that the "shit" was gone, so I understood that you were downloading it. I don't like Justin, so I just don't download him. And I repeat again about the fact that Apple gives music (and more), it is written in the article.
I wish You happy new year
Apple should get rid of these apps. 99% of the time it just weeds iVec. A symbolic gift card would make more sense, and everyone gets the app/music/movie they want.
Beyonce will be free tomorrow.
I really expected everything, but not this one, I was really surprised!!
Can I download the gifts to my macbook?
Respect the discussion below, contribution from Jakub.
Well, I guess I'm being snobbish, but Tiny Thief has been free for some time and there's no reason to download it even through the Apple app.
We're getting it all for free though, folks, so stop b*tching about it :)
The game Tiny Tief is free from 21.12. So is it really a gift, or does Apple think we're all really stupid and we'll kiss their asses for every software that appears as a gift? This is not really a gift, just a reminder that the game has been free for more than a week.
It was probably free because of the '12 Days of Gifts' app. The developers just discounted it earlier. Don't make a big deal out of it ;) If it wasn't supposed to be there, they wouldn't have put it in the discount sooner, so don't complain and think.
Well yes. If free roasted pigeons were going down the drain like this... I would be quite interested in what those who complain give for free... I would also like to receive a gift from them :)))
People, no one is forcing you to download it, today is the third day and I haven't bought a single gift, but I'm not cursing here because I'm standing on two things, someone will like it, so they'll download it, and someone won't like it, I won't download it, but I won't curse, I didn't expect anything I don't even buy this application because I'll see some lucrative gift there, they follow the App of The Week on the app store, sometimes something interesting comes out for free and I'm satisfied, so I don't expect anything interesting from this application, but I won't follow it here, as I said, if there's something interesting, I'll download it if not so no, nothing is happening, I'm not the type who has to have all the crap in his mobile phone :-) happy holidays to everyone and don't stress about a gift or a gift, there are more important things
I agree.-)
The game Tiny Tief has been free since 21.12., so there is no question of a gift from Apple. So I was a little bit expecting that when Beyoncé's new album became the best-selling iTunes ever, that when she made a profit, Apple could donate this iTunes gem.
Me, I download everything, no one knows when it will come in handy :)
I give the same shit as last year!
So it's been a year to get used to it ;-)
Don't look at the teeth of a gift horse. Marketing like any other. How does it actually work? What percentage would Apple pay the author? Or will he come to an agreement with the author?
First of all, it's about gifts, that's how I feel about it. Some things I like, some things I don't. Don't look at the gift horse's teeth as it has already fallen here, I join.
deleted. same bullshit, like every year.
True, so far it hasn't been much, but today's Home Alone in HD pleased me. Maybe it will gradually improve. :D
Great movie in Czech, I really appreciate it, even though I've seen it several times, but I enjoyed the movie :-)
Great! That really made me happy.
Log in to the iTunes store with US credit on your computer and download the movie HUGO for free.)
By the way, do you mean subtitles? And the 3GB HD is also a good joke :D
Great, why watch it on a FullHD TV in real HD (size-12GB or more) on the road, when I can have it for FREE on an iPhone, right? I'm not even surprised anymore :D
do you know why this country is where it is? the answer is in the mirror in the morning.
Are you criticizing him for the fact that, like many others, Apple's "gift" seems to him to be a beautifully wrapped pair of socks? Because we don't see such a gift, the country is where it is?!? What on earth is this idiotic opinion?
Feel free to tell me what is idiotic about my opinion and then I will tell you why I wrote it, because you obviously did not understand the point of what I wrote.
I thought it was obvious, but I guess it's hard to understand. I just don't understand what the situation of our country has to do with the fact that someone doesn't think an old movie with subtitles is a suitable gift from one of the most successful companies in the world market. Most people already have this movie in their movie library due to its age and can watch it in normal size.
Maybe because the vast majority of people in this country always just camphor and camphor "acid is not very acid"... You are writing about a marketing campaign. So when you see a chocolate maker's stand...you decide yourself to go to it, you yourself freely take one free chocolate and then you curse on the way that it didn't have 87% cocoa and nuts or what? Exactly as you write about a pair of wrapped socks... if someone gives them to you for free even though you have them in a drawer at home, will you spit on the ground because they are not Merino?
Full HD is the resolution, the data rate is another thing... but the person could read both from the movie information. He himself and others decided to download it just like I decided not to download "timbrlejka" because it just doesn't smell good to me, but because of that, he wrote in the discussion how Apple makes people's ass and that it's the same "faeces" as last year... so exactly that's why we're there... pigeons for free and alas, the crust won't be crispy...
I'm sorry, but you're wrong. If someone gives me chocolate, I really don't care how good it is. But if someone tells me that they are going to give me a GIFT (you all are ignoring the fact that this is how it is presented) for which I will repay by becoming part of an advertising campaign, then I expect that GIFT to be worth it!
Please understand that this is not a movie download (or individual gift)! It's an app download that promises to give you 12 gifts. This app contains advertising, I accept it (whether I download the movie or not) and I expect some kind of reward for it.
I think Apple makes more profit from this app than the price of an older movie or games that are provided for free even without this app!
Please note that I love Apple products and have already paid quite a lot of money for them - and will continue to buy them. Still, I think there's nothing wrong with expressing partial displeasure with this action.
If it makes me stand out from the crowd and earn a few swear words, I won't try on my shoes because of it;-)
If that makes me stand out from the herd
thumbs up man!!
Please define a gift that would be worth not feeling like a member of the herd. Of course, Perrs can also answer, b2 ... I would really be interested.
I'm a bit lost as to who "m2" actually is:-) Are you two people or do you answer to yourself?:-)
Defining a gift worth it is easy. How about custom applications iPhoto, iMovie? That would be a gesture.
And I say that as the owner of both of these apps!
It's not about getting anything. I like to pay for good things. It's about the feeling that when someone wants to give me a gift, they don't save on me and give me something that is normally free.
I have no idea what I'm answering myself, but thank you for leading this to a substantive discussion. For some people, being alone at home is a waste, for others it is a (not) gift, and maybe I was happy to look at the original legally with the whole family today poo. I don't know about you, but I only see the app as an intermediary to point out that something is free based on this event today. I don't care if it was free before, I don't watch it. I wink, interested, not interested, and move on. I think Home Alone wasn't free. I also have iLife and iWork, in addition, apple gives them free with new devices, so at least.
Wink legal
Yes, she would be better off if everyone kept their mouths shut, wouldn't they? Without watching the MegaGiga blockbuster (on iPH) and better to keep quiet on similar forums ;)
:D
maybe you can see the title :D
Boy, if I want something, I'll buy it and I don't care how much it costs, but only a spoiled bastard and a crazy idiot who doesn't value anything can hold on to something that someone gives you for free.
Why are you cursing like a fool? Nobody gives you anything for free. It's a marketing campaign, so please understand.
You're an ass, aren't you? :D
This is exactly what poor people are writing, who are not even slow to tell, especially since their iPhone is ringing in their pocket :D
You don't want a helicopter, do you? Otherwise you would have one :D
You'd better burn to pay the fee, because how do you pay for that iPhone, you fool :D
They could still give Mražik for free, Russian with CZ subtitles, so that the blind sheep have something to watch and write eulogies :D idiots
well, I would probably appreciate Mrazik in HD, and probably everyone, including those who filmed it... but idiot, why should a blind sheep watch something? when she is blind? you won't just be a jerk, you'll also be a moron, right? :-)
I think it was rhetorical, so who is a moron must be more than obvious :))
m2
what kind of idiot are you??
I'm having so much fun with this intelligent discussion about shit :-)
Yes, it's very interesting. people talking about (non)membership in the herd get quite angry when you point out to them that as (non)members they didn't have to download anything, participate in Apple's marketing events and therefore support Apple in the "giant" income that comes from giving away 12 different contents for free.
Can I ask how come I can't watch the movie for free?
Do you have the 12 days of gifs app installed?
The film Hugo and his great discovery was released for free in the USA. Not with us. I'm starting to get sick of this new racism in the form of dividing the internet into Czech, American and so on.
Hello, is it possible to get gifts from previous days? If so how? :-) thank you
you can't, each gift could only be downloaded that day, i.e. 24 hours.
I don't know how long, but you just need to find it in the store. That's how I stole Avicci, even when he was like Rayman
so I don't know, it's free, but a lot of rejpal are pissed off... what the hell are you doing?
can you always download what you want for a damn buck? so why do you pay over gifts for the poor that you don't want to pay? it's just that you're a wrecker and your free pizza doesn't get you fired, so it's not a fucking problem! Go to mekvosoft and wait until they give you a nice virus, it will be free, you won't even know about it and you will be completely pissed off that you will be able to buy a nice antivirus...
damn, it's a mental discussion again... :-/
I apologize to the other normal discussants.
yes, please don't call me a "gift" either, but I'm probably not a dozen and I don't fit into the group for which I'm preparing gifts, according to the statistics, it might be liked here, so we'll put it there... but what? I'm not going to fuck off. :-/
So, today Apple finally got a little wiser and uploaded a game (and older ones) that was not yet a free drive. Thanks and all the best in 2014!
It was free. Already 18 hours before Apple offered it.
So I take back my praise :-( It wasn't a gift for me anyway (I bought the game right after it was released), but I wanted to at least appreciate Apple's effort. Apparently I praised prematurely :-(
So, next year, I'd recommend Apple simplify the 12 Gifts app to a daily recommendation: “Check out http://appshopper.com/free/"
or to one and consult
but the principle is just like that! Apple will first give the item a discount, or after agreement with the manufacturer, and only then will the gift be published in the application. it doesn't work the other way around. and above all, the application is only to notify about the gift and not the thing that gives it a discount. it would probably be embarrassing if the gift was in the app and it wasn't in the discount on iTunes, that's why there's always a discount and then it's given as a gift!
Yes, at least something :) but it's not bad at all this year! I don't understand how everyone here in the dikuzi can go crazy... I'm glad.
I understand that I can't expect anything extra for free, but to give such shit as a gift, so you better keep it, I don't have to have everything that's free...and be grateful for it :D
These are such wonderful gifts. I'm totally giddy about it! It would still need a book in Hungarian and I would never say anything against apple again.
Were you expecting a book in Czech? You better learn English and don't make a fool of yourself.
You can see that writing the truth here is like throwing an iPad against a wall. These sites are run by fanatics, not objective people, too bad……..
Horst, don't judge others by one crunch. ;-)
What is strange about expecting a book in Czech as a gift for Czech customers? This is where the crunch just showed up. :-) The fact that someone is unable to read a book in English is not a sign of stupidity. What percentage of Czechs can do this? And why should everyone be able to do it? English is not the only world language, and a large part of Czechs do not even use it to such an extent that they need to be able to read English books. They may use other languages much more.
Those gifts remind me of a stingy neighbor who gives me a box with unnecessary stuff that gets tangled under his feet...
Pac because that's how it is..
Haters gonna hate. Doubly so in the Czech Republic. I really don't understand the comments. Here someone will give something for free and they will still complain. :D
You don't want apple to pay you for it like this by accident?:D
btw thanks for today's gift. I think Tom Odell is a great musician.
Mr Macura, you don't seem to understand that by downloading the 12 Gifts app you become a consumer of targeted advertising (another recommended app). It is quite common for the user to be paid for such ad subscription. Apple pays us in the form of gifts, and I think I have every right to complain about their poor quality. Of course, it's the only thing I can do about it, because Apple didn't guarantee me the quality of the gifts before I downloaded the app.
What I don't understand is the mass and enthusiastic gratitude of many users for practically anything that appears in the app.
Or I actually understand it;-) How else could all hidden marketing projects like 70% post-Christmas discounts and so on work.
It is the naive idea that anything that is "free" is good and should not be rejected.
It was definitely not meant that way. Rather, I was pointing out the ingratitude from people. Today, almost no one values anything anymore, and that's bad.
so don't bother with this event - I was excited by Tiny Thief and Hugo... it doesn't offer anything at all. But it's probably better to avoid springing up and not giving anything away
I didn't use every gift, but overall the gifts are nice. I expected such pointless complaining to appear. I just wonder what these complainants themselves would give to someone for free...I think probably nothing.
Feel free to send me a copy of my DVDs. I have no problem sending a copy of everything I have
listen to a copy of your dvds? do you have your own works on them, or are you distributing them from someone else?
Well, that's it. When I buy something, it's mine. I can do what I want with it here. It's like someone forbidding you to sell your bought car.
Well, the car is not such a good example. I would define it like this. When you buy a sweater, you can knit the same sweater according to it and give it away, give it away, sell it as you like, and what else, you just have to see it and you can knit sweaters according to the brand pattern with impunity, hallelujah, who cares about the brand logo??
Besides, I, like Apple, would dig up the original Sam at home and give it to you. Have a nice day and don't let Josef and his ilk get in the way anymore.
Ok, I found some foreign discussions and sentences like "let me tell you, I'm very disappointed. The only stuff Apple has been giving out is garbage" are quite common. Certainly, the offer of "gifts" from Apple did not improve the current image of this company in my view of the world.
At the gymnasium, we elected MISS classes. The winner received a trip from our agency where she only paid for accommodation, travel and food. (for the less understanding - she paid for everything)
Gifts from EPLU are identical. They are really worthless gifts. And why not criticize when someone gives you an INVISIBLE BREAKFAST…..
If I get a 3% discount at a gas station that has 10% higher prices, is it really a discount? Yes – it's an EPL discount!!! However, for those who can count a little, it doesn't work out somehow...
Nicely written, but don't explain this to a moron, especially the second part of your post.
And what would you imagine to be satisfied?
one reasonable paid app for free - not a game of course.
Exactly. I also answered here before. I'm not trying to save at all costs, but I want to see that Apple values its customers and if it wants to reward them somehow, it will do it within its means. If they gave iMovie or iPhoto for free, I wouldn't say no - although I've had both applications for a long time.
I would welcome maybe 12 bug fixes, one every day. For example, I'm quite annoyed that streaming a movie from iTunes restarts the iPad/iPhone every few minutes, or they could fix the sync in iCloud. Not to mention the maps. Before, Apple was more expensive than others, but everything worked. Now it's even more expensive, but it doesn't work quite as well as other competitors on the market. Gifts are just the icing on a perishable cake.
Good day everyone, I'm really looking forward to another enthusiast writing here after today's gift, how amazing he spent 12 minutes watching this family episode. And certainly no one will mind the missing Czech, because their children are no slobs.
Well, I didn't appreciate the gift (again) and I didn't even offer it to my children. Apparently we're a family of crunchers - I'm the only one who can speak English so far.
Apple should take a lesson - it's a pretty well-known fact that if I'm offering clients some repeat action as a marketer, it should be graduated. Otherwise, even the same quality will be perceived with less response over time.
However, Apple tends to degrade their app over the years :-(
so buy it in Czech on store for only 13,99 euros
Really good advice, what if the US store would rather offer this movie in Czech as a gift. :)
The cz store is so small, that's why I'm telling you that I can be happy that we have dubbing and now also subtitles in itunes
I agree with your point. I wrote to Apple support and was referred to a form on the website – http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html . Maybe if more people fill it out someone will finally get it.
... Big or small store - it doesn't matter - It would be quite user-friendly if Apple worked on promotion - or let's call it whatever and supported applications (developers) at least according to the home store ... I think they have statistics and it wouldn't be a problem - however, we would probably read that they have a better application on offer today... Or maybe the great KIM could take care of it :) he would deal with the dissatisfied user :)
I don't see why you're all complaining and crying that the gifts are a fart... Apple also didn't have to give anything at all, and Rayman just happened to make me quite happy. But even the songs and Home Alone are great. And something is better than nothing
I don't agree. How many times is nothing better than shit.
I'm still more or less defending gifts from Apple here, but even I didn't expect such a headache and crap like Mr Crab.
they're probably joking... no useful application, no good game either and I can chew on performances from concerts, the only thing that was nice is being alone at home and everyone has seen that at least 10 times... and MR.CRAB? dafuq?
Deleted, thrown away, stamped and most of all LEARNED, so I don't have to keep the mess in my iPhone!!
This year the gifts were worth it. In my great excitement, I forgot to download this app.
So much great stuff and FREE!! Guys, I'm so happy. Original books, 20 year old movies, live concerts………
The EPL really gave me my due this year……………..
