TV+ offers original comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries and children's shows. However, unlike most other streaming services, the service no longer contains any additional catalog beyond its own creations. Other titles are available for purchase or rental here. This week, it is mainly about two news trailers, but also the real success that the platform recorded with 52 nominations for the annual Emmy Awards.

Amber Brown

After Amber's parents divorced and her best friend moved away, Amber is going through a tough time. Her drawing, video diary, and new friend Brandi give her space to express her emotions and gratitude for the love that surrounds her. At least that's the official description of the news from the Apple workshop, which is clearly aimed at younger viewers who may be going through similar life situations, but it is a family series. It premieres on the platform on June 29, and Apple has released a full-length trailer for it.

Five days at Memorial Hospital

Flooding, power outages and scorching heat forced exhausted workers in New Orleans to make some truly drastic decisions. The series is based on real events after Hurricane Katrina, which caused massive damage in the southern United States at the end of August 2005. The wind speed at sea reached up to 280 km/h and New Orleans' protective levees broke and the city was completely flooded by water from the ocean and nearby Lake Pontchartrain. From an economic point of view, this is probably the biggest disaster ever caused by an Atlantic hurricane.

After the teaser, Apple also released the first trailer, which shows how the hurricane was just the beginning of the horrors that followed. The entire series is an adaptation of the book by journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheri Fink. The series stars Vera Farmiga, Cherry Jones, Robert Pine, Cornelius Smith Jr., Julie Ann Emery and Adepero Oduye and is set to premiere on August 12.

gutsy

Apple is preparing a documentary series celebrating successful women. The entire series will be accompanied by Hillary Rodham Clinton and Chelsea Clinton, who are the authors of the joint book The Book of Gutsy Women. "The series shows both female protagonists as you've never seen them before," says Apple himself about the series. It reveals their special bond between mother and daughter and the unique, multi-generational way in which they approach the important and current issues highlighted in each individual episode, of which there will be 8 in total. Jane Goodall, Gloria Steinem, Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson and many more. The premiere is set for September 9.

52 Primetime Emmy nominations

Apple TV+ hit Ted Lasso tied its record number of Emmy nominations for 2021. It once again has 20. However, an Apple TV+ production alone received 52, compared to 35 last year. Other highly nominated series include The Separation, which has chance to succeed in 14 categories. Rather surprisingly, even Schmigaddon! can claim 4 notches, but The Morning Show only has 3. Series such as Foundation, Pachinko, Central Park, Carpool Karaoke or SEE are also nominated. The 74th Annual Emmy Awards will take place on September 12.
