TV+ offers original comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries and children's shows. However, unlike most other streaming services, the service no longer contains any additional catalog beyond its own creations. Other titles are available for purchase or rental here. In this article, we will look together at the news in the service as of 24/9/2021. This is primarily the premiere of the long-awaited Sci-Fi Foundation and the trailer for the post-apocalyptic film Finch.

Premiere Foundation

The Foundation series follows a group of exiles from a crumbling Galactic Empire who embark on an epic journey to save humanity and build a new civilization. The series, which premieres today, Friday, September 24, is based on Isaac Asimov's award-winning novels nearly 70 years after their publication. The original work was written after the Second World War, the events of which flow indirectly through the entire story. However, the modern adaptation had to change certain elements in order to function ideally nowadays.

To support the news, Apple released a trailer with comments from executive producer David S. Goyer, who compares the work to Star Wars or Dune, as well as actors such as Jared Harris, Leah Harvey, Lee Pace and Lou Llobella.

Tom Hanks and Finch

Tom Hanks plays Finch, a man who embarks on a moving and important journey to find a new home for his unusual family - his beloved dog and a newly constructed robot - in a dangerous and desolate world. This is the second film with Tom Hanks under the production of the platform, the first was the wartime Grayhound. The newly released trailer is the first look at the promising post-apocalyptic film, which will not lack jokes, action and drama. But let's hope that it won't be just a mix of Chappie and Number 5 lives.

Ted Lasso and Emmy

Ted Lasso entered the Emmy Awards with 20 nominations, a record for a debut comedy series at the awards. And he certainly did not leave empty-handed, because he mastered his category and was surpassed only by the Koruna series in the number of victories. Specifically, he won awards in the following main categories:

  • Best Comedy Series
  • Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series: Jason Sudeikis
  • Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series: Brett Goldstein
  • Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series: Hannah Waddingham

Total received production  TV+ won 11 awards at this year's Emmys, which is exactly 10 more than last year, when it participated in the awards for the first time. In fact, Ted Lasso is the first ever Best Comedy Series ever to win the award and be distributed exclusively through a streaming service. You can currently watch its second season on the platform, and the fact that it is a really high-quality show is evidenced not only by the reactions of viewers, but also by critics.
